Results of an analysis performed relative to the "quality" and "performance-property" categories of fuels, lubricants, and technical fluids as applies to theoretical postulates of qualimetry from the morphological, functional, and informational standpoints are reported. Based on analysis of current normative-technical documents, we show that the quality requirements of aviation fuels, especially supersonic aircraft fuels, have been declining in the Russian Federation since 2006. The need for improvement in requirements for thermooxidative stability of domestic fuels determined under dynamic conditions, and for insertion of appropriate changes to the Technical Rules of Customs Union and Fuel Standard is shown. It is proposed to remove T-6 and T-8V fuels from the list of products to which the technical Rules of the Customs Union apply, delete change No. 2 to GOST 12308, conduct research on validation of standards for wear-resistance properties of jet fuels, and insert the parameter "wear-spot diameter" as determined in conformity with GOST 53715 into normative-technical documents. © 2014 Springer Science+Business Media New York. Problems of evaluation of direct distillability of residual fuels, i.e., presence in them of residues of oil refining destructive processes, are discussed. The shortcomings of the current methods of evaluation of direct distillability are shown. A new method of evaluation of direct distillability, which is based on separation of residues from residual fuels and determination of asphaltene content in the residues, is proposed. This method provides reliable information about the presence of residues of destructive origin in the fuels. © 2012 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc. Source
