This paper evaluates a current mail logging rous failure in area of forest management unit Ostravice in flysh area of Beskydy Mountains. The main logging road network occupyes area 1,37% of a productive surface. Roads with tarmac track have damaged 15,3% of track surface, gravel roads 22,14% and earth roads 2L class 37,47%. Erosion, created by main logging road network, takes 0,19% of forest management unit Ostravice area. Source

The management of forests require an optimally constructed and maintained network of traffic communications. Proposal of the location, structure and density of communications network follows from traffic research on roads condition in a given model area. Some results of the research on density and structure of forest roads of all four kinds in accordance with "SN 73 6108-Lesni dopravni si" norm (standard specification) are presented in the paper as well as other data and findings about forest traffic network in model area.
