A system and apparatus for use in energy conversion. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a gateway remotely located from an inverter and having (i) a first terminal for coupling to AC wiring upon which the inverter couples AC power, wherein the AC power is generated by the inverter from DC power, and wherein the gateway obtains data pertaining to operation of the inverter via the first terminal, and (ii) a second terminal for coupling information related to the data to an external monitor, remotely located with respect to the gateway, via a communications network.

An apparatus and system for flexibly mounting a power module to a photovoltaic (PV) module. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a plurality of distributed mounting points adapted to be adhered to a face of the PV module for mechanically coupling the power module to the PV module, wherein the plurality of distributed mounting points flexibly retain the power module such that the PV module is able to flex without subjecting the power module to stress from flexure of the PV module.

Method and apparatus for obtaining photovoltaic (PV) module I-V curve data. In one embodiment, the method comprises reducing an operating voltage of a PV module coupled to a power conditioner to a minimum operating value; once the operating voltage has stabilized at the minimum operating value, stopping power production in the power conditioner; and determining, by the power conditioner, a plurality of sets of I-V curve data from PV module, wherein each set of I-V curve data in the plurality of sets comprises a voltage value indicating output voltage from the PV module and a current value indicating output current from the PV module.


Apparatus and system for determining a phase connection for a power conditioning unit (PCU). In one embodiment, the comprises determining, by a controller coupled to a multi-phase AC line, a reference phase stamp; determining, by the PCU, a local phase stamp, wherein the PCU is coupled to a subset of phase lines in the multi-phase AC line; determining a difference between the reference phase stamp and the local phase stamp; comparing the difference to one or more of a first range of values or at least a second range of values; and determining the phase connection for the PCU based on whether the difference is within the first range or the at least a second range.


Exemplary embodiments of the present invention are drawn to a method and apparatus for securing a segmented cable in manufacturing and for shipping and storage. In some embodiments, the apparatus comprises two or more fixtures, each comprising a plurality of locking receptacles along a body of each fixture, wherein each of the plurality of locking receptacles comprises a locking mechanism to secure a connector of a plurality of connectors on a power cable.
