Miniature unmanned aerial vehicle remote sensing system (MUAVRSS) plays an important role in remote sensing data acquisition. It has many advantages, such as low operation cost, good running flexibility, and so on. First, this article introduces the system composition of MUAVRSS. Then it designs a technical process of monitoring serious natural disaster using MUAVRSS. Finally, we utilized MUAVRSS for taking photos of the town of Beichuan County, which is a heavy disaster area of Wenchuan earthquake. Hundred and seven clear aerial photos were acquired. According to image mosaic and geometry correction, we preliminarily evaluated the suffering condition by comparing to the spaceborne images before the strong earthquake. Better efforts were realized.
