For intelligent video surveillance, the adaptive tracking of multiple moving objects is still an open issue. In this paper, a new multi-object tracking method based on video frames is proposed. A type of particle filtering combined with the SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) is proposed for motion tracking, where SIFT key points are treated as parts of particles to improve the sample distribution. Then, a queue chain method is adopted to record data associations among different objects, which could improve the detection accuracy and reduce the computational complexity. By actual road tests and comparisons, the system tracks multi-objects with better performance, e.g., real time implementation and robust against mutual occlusions, indicating that it is effective for intelligent video surveillance systems. © 2011 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC. According to the present situation of life detection instrument, which can only detect regional life information in post-earthquake disaster environment, the internet of things technique is applied in multi-life targets location system. Many ultrasonic sensor nodes are distributed in the field environment to locate the multi-life targets in each region. To improve the performance of multi-life location system based on internet of things, the chaotic codes with Binary Frequency Shift Keying (BFSK) were used to construct the spread spectrum emission signals for ultrasonic sensors. Correlation technique in the receiving circuit was used to de-spread. In order to improve the echo signal correlation effect, genetic algorithm was applied to optimize chaotic initial values. The experimental results demonstrated that the ultrasonic multi-life location system based on internet of things with optimized BFSK emission could realize the simultaneous location of multiple live subjects with maximal 4.0 cm absolute error. A method for moving multi-target detection and tracking in stable scene is presented. Optical flow is used to extract the velocity of pixels, and targets are recognized by combining motion character points obtained by binary discrete wavelet transforms (BDWT). A discrete kalman filter is used to track targets in the follow-up frames; the center and scale of tracking window are updated by a Mexico wavelet kernel function mean shift method which is embedded into the discrete kalman filter framework to stabilize the trajectories of the targets for robust tracking during mutual occlusion. The method is tested on several frame sequences and shown to achieve robust and reliable frame-rate detection and tracking. © 2011 ACADEMY PUBLISHER. Source

This paper addresses the performance of pseudorandom Binary Amplitude Shift Keying (BASK) emission sequences for an ultrasonic multi-life location system in rescue robot. To improve the performance of multi-life location system, the BASK modulation were used to construct the spread spectrum emission sequences for ultrasonic sensors. Correlation technique in the receiving circuit was used to de-spread. Good correlation characteristics, i.e., sharp autocorrelation and flat cross-correlation, can help eliminate crosstalk between multichannel ultrasonic sensors. To improve the echo signal correlation effect, genetic algorithm was applied to optimize pseudorandom m sequences. In simulated post-earthquake environment, experimental verification of ultrasonic multi-life location system consisting of eight-channel SensComp 600 series electrostatic sensors with optimized BASK emission sequences was carried out. The experimental results demonstrate that the ultrasonic multi-life location system with the proposed method can realize multi-life location simultaneously. © (2011) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
