Multiple co-channel primary users (PU) existing simultaneously is very common in cognitive radio environments. With the knowledge of the location information of PUs, the cognitive radio can use spectrum-access opportunities more effectively and provides more value-added services. A novel multiple PUs localization algorithm was proposed, which seeks non-cooperative PUs' position by executing k-mean clustering and iterative operations. Simulation results show that the proposed method achieves better performance than traditional expectation-maximization(EM) algorithm. © 2011 IEEE. Source

The physicochemical properties of waxy corn starch was studied before and after treated in anhydrous alcohols with acid. Waxy corn starch was treated in anhydrous methanol, ethanol, 2-propanol and 1-butanol with hydrochloric acid. The results showed that the surface was porous after starch acid-alcohol treated, and the fissure on the surface of granules could be observed with the increasing of carbon number of alcohol. Acid-alcohol treatment decreased syneresis and the swelling power and increased the solubility as the increasing of carbon number of alcohol from ethanol to 1-butanol. The X-diffraciton pattern did not changed, but the intensities of the major d-spacings decreased after acid-alcohol treatment. The foregoing data showed starch could be made more susceptible to acid hydrolysis in different alcohols from methanol to 1-butanol. Source

Listeria monocytogenes liquidchip detection method was established by coupling Listeria monocytogenes monoclonal antibody (mAb930) and polystyrene microspheres, and combining with double antibody sandwich technique. The ratios of different concentration of antibody to the microsphere coupling were detected. L25 (56) orthogonal test was used to optimize the reaction conditions, and verification of the sensitivity and specificity were detected by the developed method. 200 food samples were tested by the method, with comparison of the national standard method. The optimal concentrations of polyclonal antibody,, the antibody biotin labeled Goat anti rabbit IgG and SA-PE antibody were 1:100, 1:500 and 10 μg/mL, respectively. And the best reaction time of biotin labeled and SA-PE was, 30 min. The sensitivity of this method reached 103 CFU/mL. No cross reaction with other common food borne pathogenic bacteria occurred. In addition, the results were consistent with the national standard method. The false positive rate of liquid chip assay for the detection of various samples was less than 0.77%. The method has high sensitivity, strong specificity, good reproducibility, and can be used for rapid detection of Listeria monocytogenes in food. Source
