For the development of new complex inhibitors of acid corrosion in steels within the framework of the QSPR approach, we study the anticorrosion properties of the samples of arylsulfonyl esters of 8-oxyquinoline in sulfuric acid and compare their electronic characteristics with the data of quantumchemical analysis in the РМ7 semiempirical approximation. The following series of esters were investigated: naphthalene-1-yl-benzosulfonate (1), 4-methylbenzosulfonate (2), 4-nitrobenzosulfonate (3), 2-methylbenzosulfonate (4), naphthalene-1-sulfonate (5) and, for the sake of comparison, the original compound, i.e., 8-oxyquinoline (0). Samples of 20 steel were tested in a model corrosive medium by the gravimetric method under the following conditions: 0.1 М solution of sulfuric acid, a temperature of the medium equal to 55°С, the duration of experiment equal to 2.5 h (in the vibration mode), and a concentration of sulfonyl esters of 0.01 mole/liter. We obtain the following sequence of increase in the anticorrosion activity of these compounds: (0) << (1) < (4) < (2) < (3) < (5), which completely agrees with the changes in the molecular volume and the Van-der-Waals surface area of the molecules computed in the РМ7 approximation. This effect demonstrates the predominance of these descriptors in analyzing the influence of the structure of esters on their anticorrosion properties. It is also established that all these compounds are potential fungicides and, hence, can be used in complex inhibiting compositions as admixtures to protective lacquer anticorrosion coatings. © 2017 Springer Science+Business Media New York

Mathematical models of the method of generating large-span rod systems with the manufacturer defect and assembly sequence at construction process are offered in the article. The explanations and formulas used in the universal algorithm that allows generate of the proposed method are offered. This article gives an analysis of previous theoretical and experimental studies. By the example of a cell of hinged-rod system shows the technology to solve this problem by using the suggested method. The results of identifying the potential assembly errors in the metal single collar cylinder shell. Assembly forces are defined that occur in the shell when it is assembled - with mounting influence. © 2015 Published by Elsevier Ltd.

The growth of organic single crystals of naphthalene (C10H8) and anthracene (С14H10) at the liquid‒air interface from a mixture of solvents has been investigated. The growth technique used in the study makes it possible to obtain single-crystal sheets up to 10 mm in size for 24 h. The surface morphology and structure of the crystals have been analyzed by optical microscopy and X-ray diffraction. C10H8 and С14H10 single crystals grow coplanarly along the (001) plane. A thermodynamic model of the flat-crystal nucleus formation at the liquid‒air interface, based on the analysis of the change in the free Gibbs energy, is considered. © 2015, Pleiades Publishing, Inc.

Liquid-solid phase equilibria are studied in the eutectic benzoic acid-naphthalene system by means of thermic analysis (DTA, CTA), on the basis of which the liquidus line and eutectic point (x e ≈ 50 mol %, T e ± 340 K) are determined and the phase diagram is constructed. Average precrystallization supercooling temperatures ΔT L - of the liquid phase relative to liquidus temperature T L are determined, allowing us to locate the region of solution metastability on the phase diagram. Excessive functions of the components in the liquid phase are found via thermodynamic modeling using the Margules equation and experimental data. The boundaries of the region of liquid solution metastability are estimated from the thermodynamic conditions of solution stability. © 2014 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

The shape anisotropy of the EPR lines of broken carbon bonds in a dislocation core with an edge component in natural semiconducting type Ic diamonds has been investigated. It has been found that electrically active acceptor centers are formed at dislocation steps, jogs, or kinks. In the article the strategic reconstruction issues of standardized development objects that are in the difficult geo-climatic conditions are examined. The solution of such issues depends on the demographic, social and economic position of the considered locality. During the research basic tasks were set that are aimed at the investigation of geological conditions of the area, the detailed analysis of the typological characteristics of buildings and structures that are undergoing the reconstruction as well as taking into account legislative environment of the project activities in this direction. Researches conducted, tasks set and recommendations developed have given the opportunity to present the main results of researches and to formulate definite conclusions. The design work of the spatial pivotal roof with a cut-out in the elliptic setting formed by the system of rigid threads through the sections based on determination of a numerical safety index of a designed structure has been described. The proposed method provides the sequence of solution of problem series: determination rational geometric parameters of a structure; obtaining of appropriate rigidity characteristics of basic bearing elements; determination of a track of elements destruction for typical coating diagram with the following evaluation of stressed and strained state of an object; determination of numerical safety indices of a structure (determination of the lower and upper safety limits). © 2013 The Authors.

An alternative approach to calculating critical sizes lk of nucleation centers and work Ak of their formation upon crystallization from a supercooled melt by analyzing the variation in the Gibbs energy during the phase transformation is considered. Unlike the classical variant, it is proposed that the transformation entropy be associated not with melting temperature TL but with temperature T < TL at which the nucleation of crystals occurs. New equations for lk and Ak are derived. Based on the results from calculating these quantities for a series of compounds, it is shown that this approach is unbiased and it is possible to eliminate known conflicts in analyzing these parameters in the classical interpretation. © 2016, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
