Dry seeds of seven winter wheat varieties and one line were exposed by gamma-rays and chemical mutagens to determine their effect on plant grows and development. Next parameters have been investigated - plant survival, pollen fertility, components of yield structure. Informative value by mutation depression evaluation of all parameters has been developed. The most informative parameters for mutagenic depression in M1 generation of winter wheat plants were survival of plants, pollen fertility, indicators such yield structure parameters as plant height, grain weight per spike, thousand grains weight. Insensitive and most sensitive for mutagen actions varieties have been developed.

The purpose of the research is to investigate the impact of athletes’ leadership skills, determining effective performance and sports achievement; to theoretically prove and implement the authors’ program, focusing on qualified athletes’ leadership skills developing in university men’s sports teams. Materials: the constative study involved a number of student-athletes – with different qualifying standards – 147 athletes and 18-22-year-olds from 13 men’s sports teams of Dnipropetrovsk universities. The researchers’ focus resolves around the factors that influence athletes’ performance and sports achievement, based on forming a holistic-interactional paradigm frame that encompassed the research of the dynamics of the relationship between hypothetical constructs. The experiment involved 92 athletes, ranged from 18-22-year-olds – amateurs; professional sportsmen, key players of 8 sports teams. The experimental group (EG) athletes’ training was done under the propounded program; and control group’s (CG) training was structured on a regular basis. Results. Have highlighted the leading skills efficiency of men’s teams’ work in basketball, volleyball, mini-football and handball games; singling out peculiarities of each team’s cohesion on the whole, as well as athletes’ individual and psychological characteristics of their higher nervous activity. It is important to stress out that the social-cognitive theory of a personality describing the interaction between a personality, his behaviour, and the environment bears the evidence that athletes, regardless their temperament and character dimensions, can achieve high athletic performance. The study of teams’ socio-psychological environments shows that the emotional variable makes up 49 %, behavioral one is 43 %, and the cognitive variable equals to 8 %. Overall, socio-psychological climate is assessed as a contradictory one, which testifies to ambiguous and incompatible relations between players, and their interests, goals and values achievement might lead to conflicts in a number of ways. Conclusion. Thus, to effectively develop and implement the suggested program the authors outlined and grounded the complex of organizational and methodological conditions for the development and implementation of the program of forming qualified athletes’ leadership competency in university men’s sports teams. Content-centered and thoroughly carried out, the forming experiment laid the grounds for athletes’ performance to be considerably improved according to the propounded program. © JPES.

The evolution of paramagnetic properties of the fullerene soot (FS), fullerene black (FB), and their polymer composites Phenylon C-2/FS, FB has been studied using the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) method. For the first time, a drastic growth of the EPR signals in the FB, FS, and composite samples was observed under pumping out at temperatures T = 20 ÷ 300 °C, which is attributed to the interaction between carbon defects and adsorbed gas molecules, mainly oxygen. It is shown that the ensemble of paramagnetic centers in the FB, FS, and the composite is heterogeneous. This ensemble consists of three spin subsystems 1, 2, and 3 related with different structural elements. The subsystems give three corresponding contributions, L1, L2 and L3, into the overall contour of the EPR signal. The most intensive and broad signal L3 is caused by 2D electrons from the surface of carbon flakes. Theoretical calculations of the L3 signal line shape were carried out, and the decay rate of the integral intensity has been obtained for each component L1, L2, and L3 after the contact of the sample with the ambient air. The signal decay process in the bulk composite samples is much slower due to their low gas permeability at room temperature (RT). © 2017, The Author(s).

The study has determined the influence of plasma- chemically activated water and its level of toxicity on test objects. It has been established that the reaction of biological objects is positive, which is reflected in their livelihood. The obtained research results show that the nature of the influence of water of different structures on the species composition of the selected test objects depends on the individual properties of each of them. The influence of plasma-chemically activated water on the functional properties of Riccia fluitans, Lémna mínor L., Paramecium caudatum, Artemia salina and Cyprinus carpio has been investigated. The completed tests have helped supplement and substantiate the already existing idea about the properties of the plasma-chemically activated water and the possibilities of its use in the processing of raw materials and the manufacturing of finished products. In the course of the research, it was found that the Paramecium caudatum survival was 87-89.5 %, with no toxic effects of the plasma-chemically activated water on these objects. The cultivation of Artemia salina in water that had been pre-treated by the proposed method showed that the number of viable organisms had increased by 60-70 % compared with the reference. The obtained results of studying the influence of the plasma-chemically activated water on the development of Riccia fluitans and Lémna mínor L. indicate that the activation of growth processes is 7-39 % higher than in the reference. It has been determined that the cultivation of Cyprinus carpio in the treated water contributes to increasing the survival rate as it improved the test objects by 13 % and 6 %, respectively, as to the reference. Using the method of gas-discharge diagnostics has shown that the treatment of water with nonthermal plasma for 30 minutes contributes to increasing its biopotential. Consequently, the obtained results indicate the expediency of using plasma- chemically activated water for the production of food and feed. The established positive changes support information on the safety of using plasma-chemically activated water as a component of the food chain and prove the practical value of a comprehensive approach to innovative methods of preparing raw materials. © A. The soil airborn pollution influence on functional state of radish seedlings was studied. It has been shown, that the variability of chemical composition of soils from different polluted sites lead to active reorganization in cell protein system. Comparative analysis of obtained data allows to reveal a direct correlation between the degree of contamination and the mass escape. Reduced mass escape of soils in Dnepropetrovsk was 15-21% for Dneprodzerzhinsk 25-45%. To a certain extent, changes in protein concentrations in the roots and leaves are in inverse proportion to the mass of escape. The biotesting of airborn polluted soils in Dnipropetrovsk and Dniprodzerzhynsk cities has been done. It was established that radish as plant bioindicator adaptive reactions to heavy metals pollution are connected with decreasing of intensity of general protein synthesis, the formation of different in the composition and intensity of pool readily soluble cytoplasm inclusion proteins, the changing in activity of antioxidant protection system. The activity of peroxidase determined in roots and leaves of radish sprouts varies considerably. That is caused by the nonuniformity of the composition in investigated sites. © 2015 Vasile Goldis University Press.

The article describes the distribution of areas of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris Linnaeus) and Black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia Linnaeus) stands within the Northern Steppe of Ukraine based on forest biometry data. The total area of Scots pine stands is 21,472.9 ha, of Black locust it is 17,683.7 ha, which corresponds to 24.6 and 26.9% of the total forest-covered area. Scots pine is partly naturally, partly artificially regenerated. Black locust stands are man-made forests only. Both species form mainly pure stands within the study area. Mean age of Scots pine is around 60 years with a mean wood stock of 292 m3·ha-1. The dominant Black locust stands are overmature ones with a mean age of 43 years and a mean stock of 149 m3·ha-1. Generally, for both species, an increase in mean wood stock was observed, reaching its maximum at 71 to 75 (Scots pine) and 81-85 (Black locust) years of age. It has been demonstrated that the largest area of Black locust stands is represented by relatively rich soil conditions (54.3%), whereas in Scots pine stands there are relatively poor soils (56.5%). © 2016, Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences. This research is dedicated to identifying of misbalances on the agrarian market of Ukraine in the areas of grain, vegetable, fruits and berries, meat, milk and egg production. The analysis of their demand and supply dependence during the 2007-2014 period was conducted by means of coefficients of correlation, limit effectiveness and elasticity. It is determined that volumes of production are more sensitive to consumption levels. The worst misbalances are related to meat, fruits and berries, where production does not cover even the limited solvency of the Ukrainian population. Consumption has the greatest impact on vegetable production in crops-growing and meat production in animal-breeding. The stimulation of production development by the price factor is considered by types of agricultural holdings. According to calculations, the increase of wages in agriculture caused the growth of grain and meat production. Growing incomes allowed the population to substitute the consumption of bread with a more useful consumption of vegetables, fruits and berries. However, the consumption levels for fruits and berries, meat and milk in Ukraine do not correspond to the international nutrition standards. It has been found out that the consumer price index demonstrates the strongest correlation with egg consumption, whereas the worst situation is observed regarding the demand for milk. The obtained results are the basis for further development of the mechanisms for addressing imbalances in various branches of the Ukrainian agriculture. © Institute of Society Transformation, 2015.

A mechanism of preparing rationalistic solutions in the system of distributing logistics of a fruit and vegetable cooperative has been studied considering possible alternatives and existing limitations. Belonging of separate operations of the fruit and vegetable cooperative to technological, logistical or marketing business processes has been identified. Expediency of the integrated use of logistical concept DRP, decision tree method and linear programming in management of the cooperative has been grounded. The model for preparing decisions on organizing sales of vegetables and fruit which is focused on minimization of costs of cooperative services and maximization of profits for members of the cooperation has been developed. The necessity to consider integrated model of differentiation on levels of post gathering processing and logistical service has been revealed. Methodology of representation in the economical-mathematical model of probabilities in the tree of decisions concerning the expected amount of sales and margin for members of the cooperative using different channels has been processed. A formula which enables scientists to describe limitations in linear programming concerning critical duration of providing harvest of vegetables and fruit after gathering towards a customer has been suggested. © 2014 The Authors.
