The mathematical problem definition considering dependence of heat transfer coefficient on surface temperature in case of heating (chilling) of bodies of the correct geometrical form in the form of an unrestricted plate, cylinder or sphere, in case of free convection in unrestricted amount was for the first time written down, thereby making the task of heat conductivity nonlinear. The decision for model of thermally thin body was received. The calculation method for the surface temperatures at initial stage was developed. On the basis of the integrated linearizing transformations the engineering method of fields of temperatures and axial thermal tension in a quasistationary stage of heating (chilling) of bodies of the correct geometrical form was developed for the case of the heat exchange coefficient depending on surface temperature under the sedate law according to the mode of free convection: laminar, transitional or turbulent. Verification of decisions on model of fixed heat transfer coefficient have shown that the error of decisions is acceptable for engineering calculations, and not accounting of the dependence of heat transfer coefficient on temperature can result in big inaccuracies. Formulas for calculation of axial thermal tension are given for any point of the body: on a surface and in the center. © 2017, National University of Science and Technology MISIS. The first stage in the introduction of coal-dust technology has been completed at the blast furnaces at OAO Alchevskii Metallurgicheskii Kombinat, in response to the progressive deterioration in sinter quality and improvement in hot strength of the coke (to acceptable levels of CSR 47-51%). In this stage, the mean monthly dust injection is 124-135 kg/t of hot iron, with complete elimination of natural gas. © 2011 Allerton Press, Inc.

Different degrees of crushing of coal in different technological groups, with constant rank and granulometric composition of the batch, significantly affect all the basic characteristics of coking: the packing density of the batch, the yield and strength (M25 and M10) of the coke, and its granulometric composition. That influence is practically always expressed through the products of factors (the contents of coals of different rank and different size class in the batch). It is possible to increase the MAG-welding efficiency by controlling the electrode metal mass transfer at the reduction of discharge coefficient on spattering by influence of longitudinal magnetic field on the arc. The paper identifies a range of longitudinal magnetic field frequencies and induction which provide the discharge coefficient reduction of the electrode metal; it has also been found the characteristics of their mutual influence on electrode metal mass transfer process; mathematical models correlating the frequency and induction of longitudinal magnetic field length with loss coefficient of electrode metal on spattering are presented; technological recommendations, the implementation of which will allow to improve the efficiency of MAG-welding in industrial environments, are given. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The paper defines the range of overlay welding current, frequencies and induction of a longitudinal magnetic field that enhance the wear resistance of welded layer additing the flux. The conditions of their mutual influence on the process of structure formation are stated as well as the mathematical models linking the overlay welding current, frequency and induction of a longitudinal magnetic field with hardness, wear resistance and phase composition of the welded layer, the use of which will allow to determine the welding modes to provide the necessary properties of the weld metal. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
