MicroRNAs (MiRNA's) are ∼22nt long; one of the types of non-coding RNA having an important role in the control of the gene regulation, either by termination of the translation procedure or sometimes activating the gene actively or passively. Host-Parasite relationship largely depends on the gene regulatory network as the parasite has to survive in the host cell against the immune response of the host. So miRNA may have an important role in the host parasite relationship. The malarial parasite needs to survive in the human host cell during its life cycle. As it is well known to us today that the gene regulatory network is largely controlled by the non coding miRNA, here we are interested to find out potential miRNA in the parasite genome computationally. We have identified few putative miRNA genes in the chromosome 1 & 2 of Plasmodium vivax which need to be validated by experimental procedures. © 2012 IEEE.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a recently identified class of cellular non-coding RNAs that regulates protein expression and growth of a biological system during different stages of life. The active, mature miRNAs are 17-24 bases long, single-stranded RNA molecules expressed in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells and are known to affect the translation or stability of target messenger RNAs (mRNAs). Each miRNA is believed to regulate multiple genes and it is believed that greater than one third of all human genes may be regulated by miRNA molecules. Here in this review we try to focus on the role of these tiny molecules at different aspects of bioprocesses, prediction of miRNAs and their targets from a bioinformatics point of view. © 2011 Bentham Science Publishers Ltd.

Here we report on the development of an Integrated Bioinformatics Toolkit (InBit) that is application-based software, integrating various bioinformatics programs for general purpose biological data analysis like gene prediction, gene analysis, protein analysis, sequence alignment, etc. InBit will enable the biologists to use the various programs for their research purpose without being bothered with their various technical aspects. It will also help graduate students and those who are newly using bioinformatics tools. Though the individual software that is integrated in InBit are available on the web and are quite user-friendly, they often become difficult to use when the size of the data set becomes quite large. In these cases, it becomes necessary to use standalone versions of many of this software, but this requires some prior knowledge of UNIX operating system. InBit merges the standalone properties of the software in a user-friendly menu-driven environment. It is open-ended UNIX/LINUX based software that can be extended by the user if so desired. Its hardware requirements are also very basic, requiring a optimum of 1GB RAM for efficient performance.

Environmental issues such as stratospheric ozone depletion and global warming have been the primary motivations for recent research in the air-conditioning and refrigeration fields. The CO2 air-conditioning system forms a transcritical cycle which shows slightly degraded performance compared to the conventional system. To overcome this disadvantage, a cycle adopting an ejector is suggested. Experimental results of a CO2 air-conditioning system using an ejector were compared for various outdoor temperatures and inverter frequencies. The COPs of an air-conditioning system using an ejector and conventional system were calculated and compared based on the pressures and temperatures of experiments. The cooling capacity and COP in the air-conditioning system using an ejector are higher than those in the conventional system at an entrainment ratio greater than 0.76. In addition, better performance is shown at entrainment ratio greater than a certain value in other test conditions. © 2013 Elsevier Ltd and IIR. All rights reserved.

By measuring temperature, humidity, SO2 concentration of phase-point controlled atmosphere storage to study its technical characteristics. The results shows that the temperature change of phase-point controlled atmosphere storage is less than cold storage, its temperature change range is ±0.1°C. Humidity remained at about 94%.The distribution of SO2 concentration is uniform. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

A low-voltage current limiter suitable for both linear and switching regulators is presented. Although the approach relies on absolute values of sense resistance and MOSFET threshold voltage on subsequent I/V and V/I conversions of the sensed current, a reference current in the process and temperature (PT) compensator is derived in such a manner that the dependence of clamping threshold ITH on PT-spread is first-order canceled out. Furthermore, the current sensor embodies a transconductor build up with either p-MOSFET depletion-mode device or a level-shifter with enhancement-mode transistors, meeting low-dropout requirements. For nominal value of 750 mA, Monte Carlo data express boundaries for ITH of 523 and 1,075 mA, accounting for broad PT-variation, as well as operating voltages and mismatching. A linear regulator with 400 mA-current rate and 250 mV-dropout incorporating the limiter on its depletion p-MOSFET version was integrated on a smart-power process. The limiter occupies an area of 0.052 mm2 and consumes only 65 μA. Experimental data attest the clamper functionality and accuracy against PT-variations. From samples of distinct lots, ITH spans from 615 to 996 mA. Owing to its simplicity and open-loop operation in case of switchers, the limiter reacts upon overcurrent in only 20 ns, making it compatible with converters functioning in MHz range and under low dutycycles. Moreover, the limiter suits supply voltages as low as 1 V. © Springer Science+Business Media, LLC 2009.

A container electronic seal device and a method of operating the container electronic seal device are provided. The container electronic seal device is installed on a door locking rod and a lock handle provided in a container door. The apparatus includes a body unit, a locking arm unit, and an electronic parts unit. The body unit is disposed around part of the door locking rod and part of the lock handle, and is provided with a through hole, a guide opening, and an access port. The locking arm unit rotates and fastens the lock handle inserted into the guide opening of the body unit. The electronic parts unit selectively performs locking and unlocking depending on whether a security authentication file of the external memory is normal and monitors illegitimate opening. The container electronic seal device is selectively locked and unlocked using the external memory storing a security authentication file.
