The silicate-calcium slag is a solid waste produced in the alumina extraction from high alumina fly ash by means of sodium hydrate & limerock agglomeration. To largely imploy it into the building materials industry, we studied the influence of agglomerating temperature on the cementation activity of silicate-calcium slag, and meanwhile, we also analyzed the mechanism through TG-DSC and XRD. The results showed that the decomposition of calcite in the silicate-calcium slag is the major factor for improving the cementation activity of silicate-calcium slag, and the optimal cementation activity was achieved when the agglomerating temperature was 600~700℃. ©, 2015, Science Press.
