The invention provides an ink composition for ink-jet printing which does not cause clogging of nozzles of an ink-jet printer during printing, to thereby provide a print of desired printing quality; which ensures an appropriate drying rate of printed images; and which attains excellent color development. The ink composition for ink-jet printing, containing a pigment, a binder resin, a pigment dispersant, and a solvent, wherein the solvent is formed of (1) at least one glycol ether and at least one of a lactone compound and 2-pyrrolidone, or (2) at least one glycol ether acetate and at least one of cyclohexane and isophorone.

According to a water-based composition characterized by containing a colorant, water, a wetting agent, an amine compound, a hydroxyl group-containing organic solvent and a urethane resin having a polycarbonate group, there is provided a water-based coating composition being capable of easily controlling the gloss of a coating film applied on an object to be coated, having good storage stability, and being excellent in wetting properties to an object to be coated and continuous discharge stability without causing nozzle clogging.


A coating material for forming an insulation coating includes, in addition to a solvent: an aqueous carboxy group-containing resin as component (A) in an amount of 100 parts by mass in terms of solid content; an aluminum-containing oxide as component (B) in an amount of more than 40 parts by mass but less than 150 parts by mass in terms of solid content, based on the component (A) present in an amount of 100 parts by mass in terms of solid content; and at least one crosslinking agent as component (C) selected from the group consisting of melamine, isocyanate and oxazoline, in an amount of more than 20 parts by mass but less than 100 parts by mass in terms of solid content, based on the component (A) present in an amount of 100 parts by mass in terms of solid content. An electrical steel sheet in which the coating material is used and which has a large interlaminar insulation resistance when laminated. A manufacturing method therefor.

Disclosed is a method for producing a multilayer coat characterized by including the steps of coating a substrate with an undercoating material to form an undercoat layer, coating the undercoat layer with an active energy ray-curing type ink in an ink-jet system, curing the active energy ray-curing type ink through active energy ray irradiation, and coating the cured active energy ray-curing type ink with a top coating material to form a top coat layer, wherein the surface free energy of the undercoat layer is _(s)=20-50 mN/m, the active energy ray-curing type ink has a surface tension at 40 C. of 20-35 mN/m, and the top coating material has a surface tension at 25 C. of 20-50 mN/m, as well as a multilayer coat obtained by the production method.

A metallic ink composition for inkjet printing for a polyvinyl chloride substrate, can form printed matter having superior mirror gloss and favorable scratch resistance, and is able to prevent nozzle clogging during inkjet printing, and more specifically pertains to a metallic ink composition that is for inkjet printing for a polyvinyl chloride substrate and that is characterized by containing at least a polyester resin (a) having a weight average molecular weight of no greater than 12,000, a metallic pigment dispersion (b) resulting from dispersing a evaporated aluminum pigment only in an organic solvent, and an organic solvent (c) that has solubility with respect to the polyvinyl chloride substrate.
