In order to search for novel leading compounds, eleven novel dehydroabietic acid derivatives bearing 1 ,3 ,4-thiadiazole moieties were designed and synthesized by using dehydroabietic acid as starting material. All the titled compounds were analyzed and characterized by means of 1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR, EI-MS, and elemental analysis. The preliminary bioassay showed that most of the titled compounds exhibited a certain fungicidal activity, in which compound 2 had inhibition rate of 88. 9% against Alternaria solani at the concentration of 50mg/L.
