Limited efforts have been done towards enhancing the productivity of Abrasive Flow Machining (AFM) process with regard to better quality of work piece surface. In recent years, hybrid-machining processes have been developed to improve the efficiency of a process by clubbing the advantages of different machining processes and avoiding limitations. In the present study, the abrasive flow machining was hybridized with the magnetic force for productivity enhancement in terms of material removal (MR). The magnetic force is generate around the full length of the cylindrical work piece by applying DC current to the solenoid, which provides the magnetic force to the abrasive particles normal to the axis of work piece. The various parameters affecting the process are described here and the effect of the key parameters on the performance of process has been studied. © Research India Publications.

In this paper, a simulative analysis is presented to evaluate the performance of Optical Code Division Multiple Access (OCDMA) system to enhance security and reduce dispersion using 2-code keying i.e. bipolar coding approach. In this analysis for the first time we have used Walsh Hadamard codes (excluding the code words consisting of all 'ones') in bipolar arrangement to ensure successful transmission of OCDMA signal and to prevent wire tapper simultaneously for an authorized user as with single authorized user in the system transmitting information at a particular instant of time using single code keying approach there is always a possibility that a wire tapper can easily retrieve the information without any effort. Performance of the system is reported for variation in fiber length in form of Quality Factor and received optical power and values of these parameters are plotted on graphs. Investigations reveal that the proposed approach enhances the security of the system that is further proved by the eye diagrams. © 2014 IEEE.

A bidirectional subcarrier multiplexing (SCM)-radio-over-fiber(RoF) network is proposed. In this paper, SCM RoFlink is analyzed with and without optical amplifier. The response of the system is studied for semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA), erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) and Raman amplifier. The results for the same are compared and then the appropriate amplifier is selected and the required gain for the optimal performance of the system is reported. © 2015 by De Gruyter.

Edge detection is one of the prominent preprocessing stages in many image processing applications like Image Segmentation, Machine vision, Image Analysis and Feature Extraction etc. In order to get optimally true edge response in these applications, a particular edge detection technique shall be vulnerable to errors even when the input image gets contaminated due to presence of high frequency noise or become hazy due to blurriness. In this paper, a robust edge detection technique based on Back-propagation Neural Network with Multi-Thresholding, applicable on both Gray scale and Colored images, is presented. It is demonstrated that the proposed technique performs qualitatively and quantitatively better than Sobel, Robert's, Prewitt's, Canny and Neural based (without Multi-Thresholding) Edge Detectors under both Noisy &Blurred input conditions. © 2014 IEEE.

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a powerful technology to increase the data rate transmission over mobile wireless channels. The problem with conventional OFDM in which fast fourier transform (FFT) was used to transform and map data onto orthogonal subcarriers is that it was inherently inflexible and had high complexity. Wavelet analysis offers strong advantages over Fourier analysis, as it has a time-frequency domain operation, thus allowing optimal flexibility with less complexity. This paper provides the analysis of the performance of discrete Wavelet transform (DWT) based OFDM as an alternative to the conventional FFT based OFDM systems under the joint effect of path loss, multipath fading and noisy environment for mobile WiMax in terms of bit error rate (BER). The performance measurements and analysis was done in simulation developed in MATLAB. It was observed from the simulation results that DWT-OFDM offers to lower BER and enhance the performance in mobile multipath environments for various modulation schemes. © 2015 Elsevier GmbH. In this paper, we presented the wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) system based on optical add-drop multiplexer (OADM). We analysed the effect of loss on Q factor and BER for different fiber lengths. In order to increase the capacity of the existing optical communication networks advanced modulation schemes are utilized. Keeping this in view, an radio-over-fiber subcarrier multiplexing (SCM) employing ASK modulation technique is proposed.
