The scientific community needs to have time series of recurrent observations, covering sites of interest to monitor the evolution of land surfaces (agronomic studies using data assimilation, shorelines survey, landslides and volcanoes monitoring, coastal mapping, etc.). The analysis of these time series requests to have overlapping images which give the reflectance of the sites (physical quantity independent of the sensor). To make such physical data available and to ensure the homogeneity of treatment for time series of images, CNES has initiated the program Kalideos. In this context, CS SI has developed and operates the image processing chains. This article presents the treatments applied to optical images in the Kalideos databases (Spot and Formosat sensors). These treatments convert Level 1A products to ortho-images, giving the reflectance measured at top of the atmosphere and the estimated one at ground level after the correction of atmospheric effects.
