PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 21, 2017) - Capriza, a leader in enterprise mobility for business applications, today announced its latest release, Jaguar, which introduces a range of new pre-built micro apps developed to rapidly simplify and mobile-enable core organizational processes for Field Services and Employee Self-Service (ESS). The Jaguar release also includes a reimagined personal mobile workspace, WorkSimple, providing users with a unified, proactive way to interact with critical business applications on the go. This latest release builds on Capriza's recent introduction of the industry's first Universal Micro Apps, which uniquely work across widely-varied business applications. According to Gartner, by 2022, 70 percent of software interactions in enterprises will occur on mobile devices.1 Universal Micro Apps were created to address the challenges businesses face in identifying where to apply mobility to achieve the fastest time to value and the knowledge gap most organizations face in creating user-centric mobile experiences. Field Services professionals like delivery personnel, inspectors, technicians, and maintenance crews struggle with paper-laden processes and lack easy access to corporate data, such as customer, work order, and inventory information. The new Field Services micro apps provide these employees at the edge of the enterprise with personal, contextual, and task-based workflows on their mobile devices. Specifically, the release makes it easy for personnel to access real-time inventory information, view customer details, and submit reports while in the field. This improves business agility and customer service, while reducing costs. "Every company needs to have a mobile-first strategy," says Bruce Schinelli, CIO of railcar pooling company, TTX. "We have more than 60 locations where our field teams inspect and repair railcars. With Capriza we're able to mobilize visibility and access to information, which is essential to optimizing efficiencies and reducing costs associated with our supply chain." To address the growing number of millennial employees who admit to being disengaged at their work, 72 percent of business leaders now identify Digital HR as a top priority.2 Traditional corporate portals are based on enterprise applications that were never built for mobility and often require Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) for external access. The new ESS micro apps offer immediate mobile access to quickly and easily perform common tasks such as requesting PTO, viewing pay stubs, and searching a corporate directory. This fosters greater employee engagement and productivity, while lowering HR support costs. Although there are more than 2.2 million apps in the Android Play Store and two million apps in the Apple App Store,3 the average American spends 80 percent of their time using only three apps on their phone.4 As enterprises begin to mobile-enable their personnel, in order to maximize adoption and value, the experience they deliver to their users must be unified, simple, and personal. To address this, Capriza has also redesigned the WorkSimple app to simplify how users access business applications on the go. WorkSimple provides a personalized experience that consolidates the micro apps to each individual, and intelligently sends push notifications for new tasks and updates such as awaiting approvals, updated service requests, or overdue timesheets. Inspired by Apple's Widgets and Google Now, WorkSimple also includes a newly organized home page where critical business metrics from each micro app are consolidated and displayed as personalized Live Cards for easy access. This allows users to be more effective and agile with their daily tasks and brings a modern, exciting, consumer mobile experience to complex front-office and back-office applications. "Taking complex enterprise business applications and simply delivering them on a smaller screen is a recipe for failure," said Simon Berman, Vice President, Product Marketing, Capriza. "Today's leading organizations have realized that a successful mobile strategy is centered around how best to enable users to complete everyday tasks. That has been our approach and what's driving our customers' success." Capriza's Jaguar release is generally available today. Visit www.capriza.com/product to learn more. Tophatter Inc today pulled back the curtain to reveal its steady ascent within a highly competitive ecommerce field. The company disclosed that it expects to achieve $350M of gross merchandise volume (GMV) in 2017, more than double the $160M it recorded in 2016. In addition, the company also shared that it has been profitable since 2015, demonstrating it has been able to achieve impressive growth with a disciplined approach. "People come to Tophatter to shop in the same way they used to go to the shopping mall to discover new products. The internet has made buying products you already know you want much more efficient, but no one has truly innovated shopping in a way that effectively replaces the retail experience,” said Ashvin Kumar, co-founder and CEO of Tophatter Inc. “That’s our focus. We are the anti-Amazon.” Tophatter Inc. powers discovery shopping experiences uniquely tailored for the mobile era. Its flagship app connects buyers and sellers around the world in real-time auctions that are both fast and effective. The platform processes millions of data points to personalize the retail experience for every shopper. The company shared eye-popping engagement metrics that validate its approach to product development. Over 85% of items are sold. Over 15% of daily visitors make a purchase. “We have the engagement of a game, and the economics of a marketplace,” the CEO explained. “This is modern retail.” The company has raised a total of $35M to date, with global consumer tech investor Goodwater Capital leading the Series B. Goodwater joins earlier investors August Capital and Charles River Ventures who also participated in the round. Tophatter Inc is developing a global footprint with offices in Silicon Valley and Shanghai, China. “The first wave of ecommerce was all about making the retail experience more efficient, as exemplified by Amazon and others”, said Eric Kim, co-founder and Managing Partner of Goodwater Capital. “The next wave of innovation is in solving the problem of discovery, which is a much larger opportunity. Retail represents a $25 trillion segment of the global economy that is in the early stages of massive upheaval. Tophatter is scaling rapidly and building a platform that absorbs a tremendous amount of data - they are poised to be a long term winner.” About Tophatter Tophatter Inc was founded by Ashvin Kumar (CEO) and Chris Estreich (CTO), and launched in January 2012. The company has raised $35M to date from Goodwater Capital, CRV, and August Capital. The company has 75 employees globally, and is actively hiring at its offices in Silicon Valley and Shanghai. Before Sawyer, Acorn purchased pre-cut stamp mounts with handles from a third-party supplier, which led to variable pricing, shipping delays and inconsistent stamp mount quality. The company has long sought an option for bringing this process in house, but doing so was too expensive to automate and tedious for human workers. Upon discovering Sawyer, the Acorn team knew it had identified a solution that could shorten the supply chain. "As a family-owned business, one of our main concerns is creating a business that can be sustained through future generations. When we first heard about collaborative robots and saw Sawyer, we knew he was part of our answer. Since deploying Sawyer, we have drastically reduced the length of our supply chain, which has saved us money, and given us more control over the quality of our products," said Holly Raidabaugh, vice president, Acorn Sales Company. "The market has changed significantly, and customers have more expectations for customization than ever before. Having the ability to ensure quality without sacrificing flexibility or affordability has been a huge win for us." Founded in 1964, Acorn Sales specializes in stamps, seals, name badges, stock certificates, corporate kits and more. By bringing the fabrication of stamp components in house, Acorn can keep its prices in line with competitors, a critical factor in a price-driven market. Moving forward, Acorn hopes to deploy Sawyer on a variety of tasks, including a potential overnight shift. "Traditionally, automation has been exclusively available to larger manufacturers, but the benefit of flexible and affordable collaborative robots is that small and mid-size manufacturers can take advantage of automation as well," said Jim Lawton, chief product and marketing officer at Rethink Robotics. "For manufacturers like Acorn to stay competitive, they need to find ways to shorten supply chains, increase product quality and drive competitive pricing in the market. Sawyer enables manufacturers to be innovative and creative, and gives them a real competitive edge." For more information, please visit www.rethinkrobotics.com. Rethink Robotics is transforming the way manufacturing gets done, with smart, collaborative robots able to automate the 90 percent of tasks that until now, have been beyond the reach of traditional automation. Its Baxter® and Sawyer robots, powered by the Intera software platform, adapt to real-world variability, can change applications quickly and perform tasks like people do. The result: manufacturers of all shapes, sizes and industries get the fast-to-deploy, easy-to-use and versatile automation solution they need to increase flexibility, lower cost and accelerate innovation. Based in Boston, the Rethink product suite is available in Asia, Europe and North America. -- Costa Rican Vacations (CRV), a travel agency specializing in personalized, boutique vacations to Costa Rica since 1999, polled its expert vacation planners to get their top tips for families traveling to Costa Rica.  The vacation planners at CRV know that the logistics of family travel are not always easy – but they're always worth it!   With a bit of preparation—plus a dose of good cheer and some luck—these helpful tips on traveling with kids will help in each phase of the planning and execution of the perfect Costa Rican Vacation!Spontaneity is an exciting way to travel, but it is best left to solo or adults-only vacations.  If the kids are promised the turtle-watching tour of a lifetime, it would be very disappointing to discover that it is the off-season for turtle watching. When it comes to kids and happy traveling, it's better to book and plan well ahead of time.We don't have control over every aspect of traveling—delays, traffic and missed connections happen. The best bet for a smooth trip for the traveling family is extra time. Don't choose flights with a 45-minute layover or super early take-offs that might cause missed flights.  There is no price on getting where you need to be on time!Parents know that one missing item can cause days worth of strife.  Whether it's a special blanket, a stuffed animal, a favorite book or a preferred snack – make sure all "must have" items are included in the suitcase. However it is also recommended to leave most non-essentials at home. For example, there are dozens of new cookies, crackers and other snacks to discover in any supermarket. Diapers, even swim diapers and pull-ups, can be found almost everywhere. Baby wipes, antibacterial gel, sippy cups, coloring books—these things are all readily available throughout Costa Rica, thus saving the packing space (more room for souvenirs)!  And always remember allthat your children can take on the airplane, on the shuttle bus, or in the backseat of the rental car. Pinterest is an incredible wealth of busy bag/activity bag ideas….and bonus points for throwing in Costa Rica-themed activities, like a rainforest search-and-find, a beachy tablet app, or anything that will connect kids to the sights and sounds around them..  Due to car seat safety, children's varying heights and weights, and other factors, it's best to take car seats and booster seats from home. They can be installed quickly in shared shuttles, private transport, rental cars and even taxis. Public buses and small airplanes do not require car seats. This may sound obvious, but pack weather-appropriate clothes. Being too cold or too hot can cause serious crankiness in little ones especially.   If traveling to higher elevations, like the Monteverde Cloud Forest, bring warm layers and cozy pajamas..  There are hundreds of kid-friendly Costa Rican hotels ( https://www.vacationscostarica.com/ hotels/kids- friendly/ ), B&Bs and boutique inns that could make any family happy, but the right few will feel like the perfect match. Travel Consultants at CRV have visited each hotel and can address individual needs and preferences such as kid's camps, meals, accommodation concerns and more.Children thrive on routine, as parents know all too well. Try to plan around children's regular nap times and meal times. Most planned tours have morning and afternoon departures, so it's usually easy to pick a time that works for the whole family. If hotel check-in and check-out times could cause problems, ask your travel agent to request early check-in or late check-out.  Scout special restaurants in advance, as many have fixed schedules that open late or close early. One of the best parts of kid-friendly travel is the pre-planning. Taking time to involve the children often sets the tone for a vacation that they can't wait to go on! Set the scene: let them know that they'll see monkeys or that the beach will be right outside their hotel room door.   It's always prudent to give children the chance to pick at least one activity—totally their choice. (If this is a little too intimidating, let them choose from a parent-approved list.) There are so many choices for family fun ( https://www.vacationscostarica.com/ tours/family- friendly/ ), including hanging bridges, safari river floats, kayaking, canopy zip lines, waterfall horseback rides, sailboat and catamaran boat tours, volcano walks, thermal hot springs, snorkeling, dolphin watching, and wildlife sightings at Costa Rica's diverse national parks and wildlife refuges.Costa Rica is a very kid-friendly destination.   Costa Rica is the perfect choice for traveling with kids, from the youngest infants to surly teenagers and beyond.A travel guide with even more great tips for vacations to Costa Rica, can be found online at http://www.vacationscostarica.com/travel-guide/travel-tips/Costa Rican Vacations (CRV) is a travel company specializing in personalized, boutique vacations to Costa Rica. Palm Beach Gardens, FL, March 02, 2017 --( The annual Honda Classic, now 11 years into its tenure at PGA National Resort & Spa, is a well-established fixture in the Palm Beach County community. Won on Sunday by fan favorite Rickie Fowler, the event drew some 203,815 spectators over seven days between the Monday Pro-Am and Sunday's final round. Though top draws Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy were sidelined by injuries, the perfect weather over four days accounted for the slight increase in attendance over last year and Fowler is now back into the Top 10 in the Official World Golf Ranking at No. 9. Quantum House of Palm Beach County provides lodging, meals, care and compassion to families facing a medical crisis. A percentage of the proceeds from the concessions tents will go directly to the organization to help support the many families from all around the world that stay at their facilities in West Palm Beach. NBCUniversal and MemSQL See High Performance Guaranteed Service Levels and Infrastructure Consolidation in Container Deployments SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 22, 2017) - Diamanti, creators of the first hyper-converged infrastructure appliance purpose-built for containerized applications, today announced general availability of the Diamanti D10, enabling enterprise IT organizations to deploy Docker containers in seconds with guaranteed service levels at a fraction of the cost of traditional data center infrastructure. Diamanti's platform is the first to bring the unparalleled performance and efficiency of bare-metal containers to hyper-converged architecture while eliminating the I/O and other networking and storage challenges posed by traditional infrastructure. The company also announced the close of an $18 million Series B funding round to drive growth across product development, support, sales, and marketing. Enterprise users across media, financial services, and web infrastructure industries have deployed Diamanti and seen performance gains of more than 40% and 6X consolidation while meeting guaranteed application service levels. Altogether, Diamanti's innovations dramatically reduce container infrastructure total cost of ownership. "Maintaining service levels for NBCUniversal's identity application is critical to delivering a crisp user experience," said Ramana Mantravadi, SVP and CTO, NBCUniversal Digital Products and Interactive Media. "Diamanti increased our application performance without code changes and allowed us to consolidate infrastructure while automating application deployment by our development team." "Diamanti delivers operational automation for isolating networks and storage volumes, workload prioritization with guaranteed performance, and rapid simulation of storage and networking scenarios for MemSQL test and development infrastructure," said Carl Sverre, Principal Architect at MemSQL. "Enterprise organizations have great interest in the efficiency and economic advantages of containers, but containers can disrupt network and storage processes for IT operators with complex deployment challenges," said Jay Lyman, Principal Analyst at 451 Research. "These issues are amplified by data-intensive workloads such as databases, key-value stores, and message queues where predictable throughput and performance are essential. Diamanti is targeting operational requirements for containers with an integrated platform offering simplified container networking and persistent storage, while guaranteeing service levels for stateful applications." Diamanti and 451 Research will host a webinar on February 28 where they will present an enterprise perspective on digital transformation, unveil the Diamanti D10, and feature NBCUniversal, MemSQL, and others sharing their experiences on the digital transformation with containers and Diamanti. Register for the webinar at http://get.diamanti.com/D10launch. The close of its $18 million Series B funding round brings the company's total funding to more than $30 million. New investor Northgate Capital led the round, with additional investments from CRV, DFJ, Translink, and GSR Ventures. "We believe Diamanti is the first to deliver real-time service level guarantees to networking and storage infrastructure. IT operators can now run modern Docker container workloads with predictability, which we believe is essential for in-revenue enterprise applications beyond test & dev," said Thorsten Claus, Partner at Northgate Capital. "Until now, we found that IT operators have been forced into complex and expensive 'do-it-yourself' Docker implementations since traditional network and storage technology was built for virtual machines rather than containers." Purpose-Built for Containerized Applications Docker container adoption has exploded in popularity with developers building modern, data-intensive applications, despite challenging operational issues. Diamanti enables enterprise developers and IT operators to overcome these challenges to achieve fast time to market, predictable results, and optimized costs for containerized applications: Accelerate Container Time-To-Market to Seconds - the Diamanti D10 appliance ships pre-integrated with all of the container software, compute, networking and storage resources necessary to optimally deploy and operate high-performance containerized applications at production scale. Diamanti's network and storage API contributions to popular Kubernetes open-source container orchestration software automate the container deployment process across all infrastructure resources, enabling production deployment in seconds versus days and weeks of manual approaches. Guarantee Real-Time Service Levels for Containers - the Diamanti D10 is the first to enforce end-to-end quality-of-service from the CPU through the network to storage, and the only appliance that reduces storage latencies to 100 microseconds -- 10 to 100 times faster than other shared storage approaches. No more overprovisioning. No more do it yourself configuration to achieve deterministic throughput for containers. No more hypervisors. Consolidate Container Infrastructure With 90% Utilization - the Diamanti D10 provides a bare-metal compute environment where workloads get their guaranteed service levels, and where x86 processors, networks, and storage resources run at high utilization. Diamanti's network and storage isolation allows dynamic utilization of resources, and all workloads run multi-tenant on the same shared infrastructure. No more "noisy neighbor" container workload challenges. "Modern enterprise container adopters are targeting data intensive applications," said Jeff Chou, Diamanti CEO and co-founder. "Enterprises are delivering large-scale digital services in private and public clouds built around Docker containers faster than ever. These data-driven applications include real-time data pipelines and analytics that can overwhelm existing infrastructure built for monolithic virtualized applications. Serving this new class of agile digital services requires an operational model that brings predictable network and storage I/O service levels to workloads including Cassandra, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL across multiple environments as customers adopt varying hybrid cloud models." About Diamanti Diamanti solves the most challenging networking and storage requirements that organizations face when moving containerized workloads from development into production. The Diamanti appliance plugs into existing environments and accelerates time-to-market, guarantees real-time service levels, and consolidates containers with 90% utilization. Based in San Jose, California, Diamanti is backed by venture investors CRV, DFJ, GSR Ventures, Northgate Capital, Translink, and Goldman Sachs.
