Modeling for operation rules is essential function requirement in equipment simulation training system based on VR. Aiming at the modeling actuality of present equipment operation rules, which has no systematic, no generality and no formatting expression, layered modeling system framework based on federation is brought forward referencing to the "Federation and Member" concept of HLA. Open modeling method is adopted to modeling equipment operation rules and it can be described with XML syntax structure. Finally, the basic implement principle of equipment operation rules is presented combing with some large tactical communication system equipment. It can provide beneficial reference for constructing similar large scale equipment simulation training system based on VR. Source

A method of building communication equipment simulator aiming at the difficult problem of large equipment training is presented. Simulator is built based on virtual reality and its framework is designed to layered architecture and framework. Geometry model of equipment simulator is created with software named Multigen Creator. Its key technologies including geometry modeling, training environment modeling, operation action modeling and simulation driving are detailed. Finally, plug-in software framework is adopted to development the simulator and simulation examples of certain integrated tactical communication simulator is introduced to prove its feasibility of this method. It can provide beneficial reference for constructing similar large-scale equipment training simulator. Source

In some large scale battlefield environment simulation applications, more realistic large area terrain is always the basic simulation requirement. Aiming at present difficulties such as complicated modeling process, disorderly data model, ineffective rendering speed and so on, a universal and efficient 3D Terrain generation and realtime rendering method was brought forward, in which MetaFlight data model, virtual texture, model optimization, dynamic paging strategy and large area database management (LADBM) were adopted. The details of these key technologies are also put forward. Finally, a simulation example was presented to prove the feasibility with this modeling method. Aiming at the simulation problem of vehicle maneuvering along path accurately, simulation framework including motion control module, viewpoint control module, collision detection module, path-maneuver module and special effect module is firstly presented according its simulation functions and characteristics. Secondly, key technologies involving terrain model optimization, large area database management and maneuvering along path are put forward. Road network data organization, path matching and path building of maneuvering along path are detailed. Finally, simulation examples based on the platform combining Multigen Creator and Vega Prime are brought forward. For the purpose of equipment training, realistic training environments need to be built and makes operators having an immersed sense. Aiming at present military requirement for equipment operation training, a universal 3D modeling method for equipment training environment was put forward, which integrated with terrain, feature and special effect. The related key technologies such as terrain modeling flow, terrain model optimization, Large Area Database Management (LADBM) and particle system are also detailed. Finally, a simulation example was presented to prove the feasibility of the modeling method.
