A simple, sensitive and selective method for the determination of Clonidine by using rapid high-performance liquid chromatography/positive electroscopy ionization tandem mass spectroscopy. The method consists of Liquid-Liquid extraction with 80:20 Diethyl ether: Dichloromethane followed by the analysis of the Extracted sample by liquid chromatography-mass spectroscopy (LC-MS/MS) in selective reaction monitoring mode using electrospray ionization mode (ESI). Chromatography was performed on a C18 reverse phase column, 80:20 (50:50 Methanol: Acetonitrile):10mM ammonium acetate (pH 6.8) as a mobile phase. The assay exhibited a linear dynamic range of 50 to 2000 pg/ml for Clonidine in human plasma. Stability assessment was also included. A run time of 2.1 min for each sample made it possible to analyse healthy volunteers participating in pharmacokinetics drug-drug interaction studies. Source

To evaluate the anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities of ethyl acetate and methanolic extracts of Smilax chinensis Linn in rodent models. The anti inflammatory and analgesic activities of ethyl acetate and methanolic extracts were studied by Carragennan induced paw edema method and eddy's hot plate method. Smilax chinensis nsis was evaluated for anti-inflammatory action by carrageenan-induced rat paw edema. The analgesic activity was tested by eddy's hot plate method. The ethyl acetate extract of Smilax chinensis in doses of 250mg/kg and 400mg/kg showed 68.23% and 73.53% inhibition of paw edema respectively. The methanolic extract of Smilax chinensis in doses of 250mg/kg and 400mg/kg showed 56.0% and 61.56% inhibition of paw edema respectively. The ethyl acetate and methanolic extracts from dried rhizome of Smilax chinensis Linn (Smilacaceae) revealed significant anti inflammatory and analgesic activities. These results suggest that the ethyl acetate and methanolic extracts of Smilax chinensis Linn possesses analgesic and anti inflammatory activities. Source

A simple, sensitive and reliable method is described for simultaneous quantification of Clopidogrel and its metabolite in human plasma by using HTLC-MS/MS. The analytical procedure involves on-line coupling of extraction with Cyclone P (50 mm × 0.5 mm 50 μm) HTLC column by injecting 15 μL sample and chromatographic separation is performed with Cohesive Propel C18 (5 μm, 3.0 mm × 50 mm), followed by quantification with mass detector in SRM mode using ESI as an interface. The calibration curves were linear over a concentration range of 0.1-8 ng/mL of Clopidogrel and 70 ng/mL to 6 μg/mL of its metabolite using 20 mL human plasma per batch. The total run time of analysis was 7.5 min and the lower limits of quantification were 0.1 ng/mL for Clopidogrel and 70 ng/mL for its metabolite. The method validation was carried out in terms of specificity, sensitivity, linearity, precision, accuracy and stability.
