A pre-loaded stent graft delivery device and stent graft, the stent graft delivery device. The stent graft has at least one fenestration or side arm and the fenestration is preloaded with an indwelling guide wire. Indwelling access sheaths are provided within auxiliary lumens of a pusher catheter and dilators are preloaded into the access sheaths along with the indwelling guide wire. A handle assembly at a distal end of the guide wire catheter. The handle includes a multiport manifold with access ports to the auxiliary lumens in the pusher catheter. Upon deployment of the stent graft into the vasculature of a patient, the indwelling guide wire can be used to facilitate cathertisation of a side branch or target vessel through the fenestration or be used to stabilise the access sheath during catheterisation, advancement of the access sheath into the target vessel and deployment of a covered or uncovered stent therein through the access sheath.

The present disclosure relates to model-based surgical planning. One aspect of the present disclosure relates to a surgical planning tool that can be implemented on a computer to be used for model-based surgical planning. The surgical tool can determine a coordinate system related to gravity from a plurality of standing images of a joint of a patient. The coordinate system can be used to plan a patient-specific arthroplasty procedure. As such, the surgical planning can include orienting a model of an implant for the joint at an optimal location in the coordinate system based on a weighting between an edge loading value and an impingement value.


A guide and a stock instrument in combination. The stock instrument includes a guide interacting feature, a lower instrument surface to abut the patient tissue and an upper instrument surface for contacting the guide. The guide includes a guide body including a lower guide surface and an upper guide surface. The lower guide surface mates with the upper instrument surface of the stock instrument when the lower instrument surface is in contact with the patient tissue. The lower guide surface includes an instrument guiding feature to mate with the guide interacting feature. An orienting feature including an arm extends away from the upper guide surface. The arm has a landmark engaging portion to enter a predetermined relationship with a fixed landmark on the patient tissue. The predetermined relationship indicates that the stock instrument has achieved a predetermined instrument relationship with the patient tissue.

The use of flagellin and flagellin related polypeptides for the protection of mammals from the effects of apoptosis is described.


Methods of treating acute heart failure in a patient in need thereof. Methods include inserting a therapy delivery device into a pulmonary artery of the patient and applying a therapy signal to autonomic cardiopulmonary fibers surrounding the pulmonary artery. The therapy signal affects heart contractility more than heart rate. Specifically, the application of the therapy signal increases heart contractility and treats the acute heart failure in the patient. The therapy signal can include electrical or chemical modulation.


A method of diagnosing Cowden syndrome (CS) and Cowden-like Syndrome (CLS) is described. The method includes diagnosing CS and CLS in a subject by identifying a decrease in expression of the KILLIN gene, or by identifying hypermethylation of the KILLIN promoter region. Kits for diagnosing CS and CLS by identifying subjects having KILLIN promoter region hypermethylation and primers specific for a methylated KILLIN promoter region are also described.

The mounting feature of the primary locating block is configured for engagement with at least one secondary item in a predetermined secondary mounting relationship. The secondary mounting relationship is custom-configured for the tissue responsive to preoperative imaging of the tissue.
