This study aims to evaluate the effect of a support program for family caregivers of seniors with dementia on stress hormones (Epinephrine and Norepinephrine). A total of 44 family caregivers participated in the experiment: 25 were in the experimental group, and 19 were in the control group. The experimental group took part in a support program once per week for 8 weeks, with 2-3 hours per session. Blood Epinephrine and Norepinephrine of both groups were measured before and after the program. As a result, Norepinephrine increased significantly less in the experimental group than in the control group after the support program. This results shows that the support program had the positive effect of reducing the increase of Norepinephrine. In conclusion, it was found that the support program can be used as a safe and effective strategy for managing stress control for the family caregivers of seniors with dementia. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.

A reflective electronic display that uses negatively and positively charged particles has excellent bistability, a well-defined threshold voltage, and an extremely fast response time in comparison with other reflective displays. This type of display shows images through the movement of charged particles whose motion depends on the value of q/m (charge per mass for a particle). However, the ratio q/m can easily be changed by the forces acting on the charged particles in a cell of the panel and by friction that occurs after mixing oppositely charged particles and in the particle-insertion process. In this study, we propose a method to determine the appropriate range of q/m by using the reflectivity and response time of charged particles to modify q/m. In this manner, the electrical and optical properties of reflective displays are improved. © 2016 KIEEME. All rights reserved.

The rapid change of new technologies or the nature and shape of new digital media has constantly evolved over the years leading to various methods of advertising and promotions for the convenience of customers. Digital Signage Advertising has served as an efficient tool of delivering broadcast program and specific information services to the customers in public places such as airports, hotels, hospitals and etc. It is a new form of advanced advertising media comprehensively supplying a set of software or management framework which can control the information display of the existing commercial digital imaging devices. An electronic billboard of a large LCD display providing information such as news and weather along with multimedia advertising is called the digital signage. This digital signage advertising passes throughout people's lives and appeals itself to consumers. A new concept of networked digital signage is spreading throughout the advertising market. The main purpose is not only to send out information or advertising but also try to keep in touch with customers through efficient communications. This digital signage will continue to grow with expansion for many years to come. However the initial investment costs and lack of knowledge and awareness on the part of advertisers' may pose some problems to deal with in the early stage. This paper attempts to analyze forms of advertisement, consumers' preference and contact frequency, interactive satisfaction in terms of digital signage in Korea. Through these efforts, new directional guidelines will be presented for future growth of digital signage advertising. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

Cross-media phenomenon, which is a remediation of webtoon as original to movie and soap opera, has been becoming more active since the mid 2000s. As the story is complete and its contents are amusing, the remediation of webtoon has been increasingly becoming active. However, it has rarely become a high-grossing movie or received high viewer ratings. This study derived success factors through an comparison of the narrative structures and visual factors of “Secretly, Greatly”, which became the highest-grossing film and "Misaeng”, which got high viewer ratings and got a reputation as well-made soap opera, with the webtoon as the original. In audio engineering, early reflection patterns are not usually variable, such as the user makes a selection from a handful of stored patterns simulating various rooms, halls, chambers and plates, or small room ambience, reflections is variable. To create digital reverb is much more complicated than combining a few digital relay units. The greater the spacing the larger the room sounds. Some difficult problems happened in recording situation is that every acoustic instrument engineers record sounds small or dry because their recording room does not have the same degree and circumstances of acoustic ambience as good as concert halls or venues. As a matter of fact that the same situation is also true of the most professional studios, apart from those with large, live rooms, and most pop music is recorded dry enough, either in a dry environment. In that case, people use close miking technique to get right sound source. Electronic effects units are used to recreate the desired ambience, and by far the most important effects unit of them all is reverberation. © 2013 SERSC.

Visual Merchandising Design covers every space, environment, and visually stimulating factor. This includes not only the architectural appearance but interior, graphic sign boards, window display, layout, store appliances, lighting, and even the looks and service attitude that sales employees have and show to customers. Even if good quality merchandise and design hit the shelf of the store, but customers don't visit the store, those merchandise are not sold. V.M.D aims to display merchandise in multiple ways; to heighten brand images; to steadily lure many customers to the store. One of the characteristics that V.M.D has is, that this abandons the previous design concept which solely puts stress on luxurious interior-focused display; that this displays merchandise in a rational and systemic way and induces customers to buy products. Furthermore, V.M.D intends to provide customers with information; to design the environment of store; to inspire customers to establish an impressive brand image. In this regard, the objective of this study is to study brand perception and effect of V.M.D displayed in the stores, on customers, and thereby to present the concepts of V.M.D, suitable for display in the stores, which can be used continuously in the future.

A random lattice fluid model with finite coordination number is a versatile molecular-based lattice fluid equation of state, but this model fails to reproduce the non-analytical, singular behavior of fluids in the critical region. In this work, a method of obtaining the classical critical properties is presented in the random lattice fluid model. This model is combined with the crossover theory to obtain the crossover random lattice fluid model and to calculate the thermodynamic properties of hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide. This crossover random lattice fluid model presents much better agreement with experimental data near to and far from the critical region than the classical random lattice fluid model. © 2010 Korean Institute of Chemical Engineers, Seoul, Korea.

The driving properties of a particle-insertion method that filters non-moving particles are analyzed, by measuring its optical and electrical properties. An area that is occupied by the moved particles is proposed, as a desirable evaluation method for a reflective display. To compare the driving property of the particle-moving method with that of the reported simple particle-loading method, two panels are fabricated, according to the different particle-insertion methods, in the same panel condition, of which the width of ribs is 30 μm, the cell size is 220 μm × 220 μm, the cell gap is 116-120 μm, the q/m value of the black particles is +1.8 μC/g and that for the white particles is -4.3 μC/g. The particle-moving method has a filtering effect which excludes the non-moving particles, inserting only movable particles into the respective cell, so that a panel fabricated by the particle-moving method can drive most of the particles in a cell. Also, most of the particles move at the threshold voltage of 40 V, with enhanced reflectivity. The driving property is also verified by measurement of the occupation rate of the moved particles. © 2012 KIEEME.

Both the electrically positive and negative particles in a cell of quick response-liquid powder display (QR-LPD) are surrounded by conductive electrodes on the upper and lower substrate and the dielectric materials of the barrier ribs. Particles in a cell are attached to or detached from the other materials by image force, electric field, Coulomb's force, and Van der Waals' force. Through these forces, the moving particles form an image but induce clumping phenomena. Particles having a large kinetic energy by a large q/m value crash into the opposite electrode with high speed at a large driving voltage and quickly lose electrically charged material. As a result, these particles are clumped and degrade panel performance. The clumped particles in a cell are observed by microscopic photographs and ascertained by a response time. When the bias voltage is increased to 0.68-0.76 V/μm, particle clumping occurs abruptly and the response time increases sharply. This particle clumping is similarly observed after the number of driving times at the driving voltage (0.42-0.64 V/μm). © 2012 KIEEME. All rights reserved.
