A method of selection and/or handover for multi radio access technologies in a 5G cellular network. The method includes: 1) collecting, by a user terminal, load information of a candidate Access Point (AP) or an Evolved Node (H)eNB via a local entity of Access Network Discovery and Selection Function (L-ANDSF); 2) checking, by the user terminal, a Received Signal Strength (RSS) value of the candidate AP or (H)eNB, a Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ) and a Service Sensitivity to Latency; 3) based on the above information, evaluating suitability of an available radio access technology; 4) triggering, by a specific triggering event, a fuzzy logic controller, to select a most appropriate radio access technology for each session; and 5) establishing a new session to perform admission control or handover.

This paper presents a stable and fast algorithm for independent component analysis with reference (ICA-R). This is a technique for incorporating available reference signals into the ICA contrast function so as to form an augmented Lagrangian function under the framework of constrained ICA (cICA). The previous ICA-R algorithm was constructed by solving the optimization problem via a Newton-like learning style. Unfortunately, the slow convergence and potential misconvergence limit the capability of ICA-R. This paper first investigates and probes the flaws of the previous algorithm and then introduces a new stable algorithm with a faster convergence speed. There are two other highlights in this paper: first, new approaches, including the reference deflation technique and a direct way of obtaining references, are introduced to facilitate the application of ICA-R; second, a new method is proposed that the new ICA-R is used to recover the complete underlying sources with new advantages compared with other classical ICA methods. Finally, the experiments on both synthetic and real-world data verify the better performance of the new algorithm over both previous ICA-R and other well-known methods. © 2014 Jian-Xun Mi.

In this paper, a leader-following consensus problem of second-order multi-agent systems with fixed and switching topologies as well as non-uniform time-varying delays is considered. For the case of fixed topology, a necessary and sufficient condition is obtained. For the case of switching topology, a sufficient condition is obtained under the assumption that the total period over which the leader is globally reachable is sufficiently large. We not only prove that a consensus is reachable asymptotically but also give an estimation of the convergence rate. We investigate thermal inflation in double-screen entropic cosmology. We find that its realization is general, resulting from the system evolution from non-equilibrium to equilibrium. Furthermore, going beyond the background evolution, we study the primordial curvature perturbations arising from the universe interior, as well as from the thermal fluctuations generated on the holographic screens. We show that the power spectrum is nearly scale-invariant with a red tilt, while the tensor-to-scalar ratio is in agreement with observations. Finally, we examine the non-Gaussianities of primordial curvature perturbations, and we find that a sizable value of the non-linearity parameter is possible due to holographic statistics on the outer screen. © 2011 Elsevier B.V.

This letter investigates the function projective synchronization between fractional-order chaotic systems. Based on the stability theory of fractional-order systems and tracking control, a controller for the synchronization of two fractional-order chaotic systems is designed. This technique is applied to achieve synchronization between the fractional-order Lorenz systems with different orders, and achieve synchronization between the fractional-order Lorenz system and fractional-order Chen system. The problem of evaluating the computer network security with uncertain linguistic information is the multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems. In this paper, we investigate the multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems for evaluating the computer network security with uncertain linguistic information. We utilize the uncertain linguistic weighted geometric (ULWG) operator and uncertain linguistic hybrid geometric (ULHG) operator to aggregate and get the overall value of the computer network security, then rank the computer network security and select the most desirable one(s) by using the formula of the degree of possibility for the comparison between two uncertain linguistic variables. Finally, an illustrative example for evaluating the computer network security is given to verify the developed approach and to demonstrate its practicality and effectiveness.

Based on the finite-temperature AdS/CFT correspondence, we calculate the ratio of shear viscosity to entropy density in any Lovelock theories to any order. Our result shows that any Lovelock correction terms except the Gauss-Bonnet term have no contribution to the value of η / s. Standard FFT-based turbulent phase screen generation method has very large errors due to the undersampling of the low frequency components. Subharmonic methods are the main low frequency components compensating methods to improve the accuracy, but the residual errors are still large. In this paper I propose a new low frequency components compensating method, which is based on the correlation matrix phase screen generation methods. Using this method, the low frequency components can be compensated accurately, both of the accuracy and speed are superior to those of the subharmonic methods. © 2011 Optical Society of America.

This paper addresses a leader-following consensus problem of a multiagent system with switching jointly reachable interconnection and noncoupling time delays. This problem arises naturally in real multiagent systems such as distributed sensing and collective motion. Neighbor-based rules are designed to realize controlling strategies for these agents described by double integrators. Although the interagent connection structures vary over time and the leader of related graphs may not be globally reachable, a sufficient condition to make all the agents follow the leader is given under a state-feedback switching signal, which is based on an appropriate partition of the state space. The consensus error is estimated in an even noisy environment. Finally, a simulation example is presented to verify the analytical results. © 2011 IEEE.

We investigate cosmological scenarios with a nonminimal derivative coupling between the scalar field and the curvature, examining both the quintessence and the phantom cases in zero and constant potentials. In general, we find that the universe transits from one de Sitter solution to another, determined by the coupling parameter. Furthermore, according to the parameter choices and without the need for matter, we can obtain a big bang, an expanding universe with no beginning, a cosmological turnaround, an eternally contracting universe, a big crunch, a big rip avoidance, and a cosmological bounce. This variety of behaviors reveals the capabilities of the present scenario. © 2010 The American Physical Society.
