The method of texture feature extraction and classification of pork loin B ultrasound image is proposed, which can be applied to the computer- aided judgment the pork loin fat content of pork loin. 5 texture features which is based on the texture of the co-occurrence matrix are extracted from the B ultrasound image of pork loin according to the digital image processing algorithm. Using the correlation analysis method to select the key texture extraction in the first step. Then,the classification is realized based on the BP neural network. The train set and test set are randomly chosen from 135 cases. Tests performed show that the proposed method result in a high classification accuracy, which will provide the researcher a valuable opinion on the pork fat content detection. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

RH degasser is an efficient way of degassing in producing high quality products. Moreover, ultrasonic degassing has also been proven to be a reasonably efficient way of degassing. In this paper, an experimental equipment similar to RH degasser combined with ultrasound was built. Parametric studies have been carried out to assess the effectiveness of ultrasonic degassing and to explore the possibility of using ultrasonic vibration to accelerate the degassing process in RH degasser. The results indicate that the degassing process can be accelerated by the use of ultrasound, and makes the RH degassing more efficient. Vacuum degassing with ultrasound can reduce the hydrogen level and the time to reach the steady-state plateau hydrogen content in molten steel. When vacuum degassing assisted by ultrasonic was used, about 9 min was required to reach the steady-state plateau hydrogen content, however, more than 20 min were required when just using vacuum degassing. And molten steel reached lower steady-state plateau hydrogen content in vacuum degassing assisted by ultrasonic. © 2014 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.

The vertical motion control of the roll was studied in order to improve the accuracy in simulation of variable gauge rolling. The discretization was carried out in the transition zone of TRB according to the principle of volume invariance. Based on this assumption, the formula for time step of vertical motion of rolls was proposed and the time-displacement curve of the vertical motion of rolls was established. In the preliminary simulation, the time-displacement curve was used as an initial method to control the vertical motion of rolls. Based on the simulation result, the formula for vertical velocity of roll in variable gauge rolling was derived from the common rolling principle. According to the formula, reasonable vertical velocity of rolls in the subsequent simulation was determined. It can accurately control the motion of rolls along the vertical direction. The desired thickness and outline profile of transition zone were acquired and the formula proved effective by the simulation. Further analysis shows that the di fference of thickness in the thick zone and the thin zone of TRB, length of the transition zone of TRB, radius of work rolls and rotation speed of rolls have a significant effect on the vertical velocity of rolls. © 2015 Central Iron and Steel Research Institute.

For large-scale straight-curve type slab continuous caster, inclusions in moten steel are more likely to float towards the meniscus and be removed, which is help for the reduction of inclusions content in the strand. Meanwhile, the corner crack and longitudinal crack are easy to occur during the production of wide-thick slab. In the light of the above, Chongqing steel No. 3 continuous caster developed some technologies, such as the adoption of chamfered mold, the improvement of collating radian precision, the prevention of bulging on the narrow and wide faces, the optimization of the nozzles in secondary cooling zone and the dynamic secondary cooling water mode, to decrease the stress on the solidifying shell and make the strand away from the third brittle zone. From February to December 2014, the ratio of corner crack was zero, and the problems of corner crack and longitudinal crack have been solved. © 2016, CISRI Boyuan Publishing Co., Ltd. For finding out the reasons of disqualification of Q345R steel plate by ultrasonic detection, the investigation of macrostructure, microstructure, SEM and fracture of the steel plate were carried out. The results show that the main reason is the microcrack induced by aggregation of MnS and nitrides as well as the martensite and bainite in the center of plate.

Surface micro-crack on plate seriously deteriorates the product quality. After metallographic observ ation and EDS teste on slab and plate, the characteristics of the micro-crack and production parameters analyzed, the reason producing surface micro-crack on thick plate Q345A was that the falling coating of mold copper plate. For one hand, this situation caused copper element to infiltrate into the austenite grain boundary through slab surface which makes the crack along the grain boundary easy to happen. For the other hand, crack was also generated by thermal stress disproportionation after coating exfoliated, and the crack was more serious on slab containing Ti, which is sensitive to crack. Therefore, some control measurements were proposed. Firstly, the quality of mold copper plate is needed to be improved and avoiding copper wall be exposed. Secondly, the inspection of mold copper plate is enhanced before production and same measurements for the surface quality of slab after production. Finally, the protective casting is proposed to improve the steel cleanliness. ©, 2015, Chinese Society for Metals. All right reserved.

A Physical modle was established based on similarity theory. The effect of gas flowrate and immersion depth on the mixing characteristics of molten steel in the RH refining process has been studied by Physical Simulation. in addition, the circulation rate was also investigated. The mixing time of molten steel is decreased with the increase of gas flowrate and immersion depth., and the circulation rate increased with the increase of gas flowrate.

Due to the thickness of the Tailor Rolled Blank (TRB) is different in the thin zone and the thick zone, there are differences of the residual stress in the different thickness zone of the same TRB. By combining finite element (FE) analysis of variable gauge rolling and subsequent bending, the effects of the residual stress on the springback of TRB are obtained. The velocity formula of the rolling roller along the vertical direction is deduced and implemented into the FE simulation.
