Valve is one of the important auxiliary equipments of thermal power plant. To realize the effective detection of valve internal leakage fault of thermal power plant, an AE online detection system of valve leakage fault was designed and developed based on the programming features of LabVIEW and the detection demand of valve leakage fault. The system is composed of two parts of hardware and software. The hardware system uses a design scheme of industrial portable computer such that the whole system is easy to carry and flexible to disassemble. According to the characteristics of the acoustic emission signal of valve leakage fault, the specific detection index can be set in the software system, which can realize quantitative diagnosis and hierarchical alarm of valve leakage rate. The leak detection test of the emergency drain valve of no. 1 unit in one power plant showed that the valve leakage fault can be quickly captured and the valve leakage rate can be quantitatively diagnosed by the AE online detection system. © 2017, Editorial Department of "Journal of Engineering for Thermal Energy and Power". In this paper we model the phototropism of virtual plants using a self-assembling approach where individual organs are modeled as interacting intelligent agents. Each agents possess inbuilt rules that make them can autonomously respond to environmental stimulation, interact with each other and deform according to their physiological status. The phototropism of virtual plant is simulated via agent's reasoning cycle of producing new organ agent with best relative angles which can maximize the light interception.

Based on in-depth analysis of the stochastic nature of wind power output, the Weibull distribution parameters of regional wind speed for different time intervals are obtained respectively, and then the probability density functions of wind power output for different time intervals are achieved. These functions can be used to calculate output-overestimate and output-underestimate probabilities in each interval, so possible extra costs for maintaining the power system stability caused by incorporating unstable wind power can be calculated. Taking into account the possible costs, a stochastic optimization model for dynamic economic dispatch of wind-thermal power system is established to minimize the comprehensive operation expected cost. Moreover, a new algorithm, bi-population chaotic differential evolution (BPCDE) algorithm is proposed to solve this complicated model. The algorithm introduces bi-population evolution strategy, chaotic map update mechanism and Metropolis rule to improve the standard differential evolution algorithm. These improvements can overcome the premature problem caused by lacking of the individual diversity in the later stage of differential evolution and strengthen the global search ability of the algorithm. The validity and superiority are demonstrated by simulation results on a power system integrated with large scale wind farms. © 2012 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Transthoracic impedance (TTI) has been demonstrated to be a potential indicator to monitor the quality of chest compressions (CCs) during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). However, TTI signals are challenged by noise artifact from multiple sources, such as ventilations and baseline drift. Practically, it is very essential to accurately detect the peak-to-trough of the complicated TTI signals. However, nowadays, there is no method to solve the problem. In this paper, Extrima search with niche technology was used to search the peak-to-trough of TTI signal. We select 2 features to judge the potential peaks and troughs in order to remove the false ones. Besides, we designed a LDA classifier for recognizing the compression and ventilation waves. The experimental results show that this method in this paper can precisely recognize the real peaks and troughs of TTI signals which include some false ones. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Common to this standard, identification of the existing security hole, a few cyber-that will offer an control system, and introduces several measures (for example, best practice). Differential evolution (DE) is an evolutionary algorithm that is based on the individual differential reconstruction idea. It is proposed by Stom and Price in 1997, and is very suitable to solve optimization problem over continuous spaces. First of all, with the introduction of concepts of differential operator (DO), etc., the concise description of DE is given and the analysis of its main features is advanced. For solving discrete optimization problem using DE, a new operator, mapping operator, in the new algorithm was used to ensure the original mutation operator still effective. Then a new S operator, with sigmoid function, was used to keep the result of the mutation operator falls in the interval [0, 1]. The algorithm not only has the advantages of DE, but also is very suitable to solve discrete optimization problems. Calculations of 0/1 knapsack problem show that algorithm has better convergence capability and stability. © (2010) Trans Tech Publications.

In the process of construction, with the mixture ratio design and appropriate construction conditions of SAC asphalt concrete mixture, it can not only have dense gradation with type I asphalt concrete which has good durability and small porosity with its skeleton dense structure, but also it can be compatible with type II asphalt concrete which has the ability to resist deformation and the depth of the surface structure. Researching on a explosion occurred in a warm stand-by 500 kV SF 6 Circuit Breaker, which was caused by the vector differences between the beat frequency voltage and the power frequency voltage, this essay proposed some methods to prevent accidents like that. Firstly, it should be added the calculation of the beat frequency over-voltage, in the planning a designing of 500 kV power grid. Secondly, it was suggested that, the warm standby line circuit breakers should be turn into cold standby before operating the circuit breakers on the other side.
