With the rapid development of technology, the wireless power transmission (WPT) technology gradually attached high importance at home and abroad. Based on the description which refers to the background and development of WPT technology, this paper discusses the development trends and the application prospects of WPT technology. Then the important scientific problems and key technologies in the development of inductively coupled power transmission in short distance, magnetic coupled resonant power transmission in middle distance, microwave power transmission technology, and femtosecond laser energy transmission technology in long distance are discussed. Finally, the WPT technology development and application in the field of electrical equipment manufacturing technology, transmission network, distribution network, smart grid, and new energy utilization are further investigated. © 2015, The editorial office of Transaction of China Electrotechnical Society. An analysis is made of the advantages of the IEC 61850 standard for sequence control technology in the substation automation system (SAS). Technology requirements on devices and equipments inside the substation are proposed. Meanwhile, the two main implementing methods of sequence control are analyzed and compared, the former using the local supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system while the latter, the bay level intelligent electronic devices (IED)together with local SCADA system. It is concluded that the latter has definite advantages in future application. The conception of the three kinds of operation sheets with the related operation sequence as well as their main steps are proposed based on the method. The successful sequence control application in IEC 61850 based SAS in China has proved the high feasibility and efficiency of IEC 61850 based sequence control projects. ©2010 State Grid Electric Power Research Institute Press.
