Tezhong Zhuzao Ji Youse Hejin/Special Casting and Nonferrous Alloys | Year: 2010
Microstructure and mechanical properties of the trace alloying Mg-Al-Ca alloy prepared by spraying-deposition method were investigated. The results show that the alloy with 1% Nd content exhibits desirable comprehensive mechanical properties, in which fine secondary phase with average size less than 1μm is homogeneously distributed, and tensile strength and elongation reach up to 480MPa and 8% , respectively. The SEM (scanning electron microscope) analysis shows that secondary phase is Al2Ca phase with HCP structure. With increasing in squeezing ratio when it is less than 20, mechanical properties of the alloy are greatly improved, while squeezing ratio is more than 20, with it increases, increase of tensile strength tends to slow.
