As a new material, the warm mix asphalt retardant asphalt mixture has its particularity in material design, construction proportion, mixture preparation and on-site paving. This paper summarized the construction process and site construction quality inspection requirement of the warm mix asphalt retardant asphalt mixture through tracking research on-site based on the real engineering. It was shown that the road environment quality of using warm mix retardant asphalt was significantly better than normal hot mix asphalt, asphalt smoke, benzene soluble and Benzopyrene decreased 91.47%, 97.05% and 80.11% respectively. Warm mix asphalt retardant asphalt mixture had a low mixing and compaction temperature. When used in the tunnel pavement, it could not only greatly reduce harmful gas emissions in the process of construction, improve construction environment in tunnel, improve the air transparency in tunnel, be convenient for construction quality management, but also can improve the fire resilience of the tunnel pavement after be put into operation. According to the characteristics of tunnels in mainland China, we researched and developed the warmed mix and composite flame retardant, and made the new type of WMFRAM (warmed mix flame retardant asphalt mixture). To study its AFC (anti-flame capability), we conducted a series of indoor burning experiments and field paving on the tested roads. It shows that AFC of the new type of WMFRAM is quite good, and its performance indexes in all aspects meet the previously designed requirements. This new type mixture has a rosy market and a large appliance space. © 2013 American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved.

According to the nonlinear characteristic of graded gravel resilient modulus, Based on the optimization of the three kinds of graded gravel as the research object, and combined with repeated dynamic triaxial test data, compared k model and Uzan model, using statistical analysis software 1stopt carries on the experimental parameters of nonlinear regression, obtained the correlative coefficient of three graded gravel resilient modulus, which is under the two models. Experimental results show that: Uzan model can more accurately reflects the nonlinear deformation behavior of graded gravel resilient, so the reliability of the regression modulus prediction equation for graded gravel is higher, can be used to forecast China's Graded Aggregate Base modulus. © 2011 IEEE.

In order to predict the permanent deformation of graded gravel, through to the existing flexible pavement granular base permanent deformation estimate model's contrastive analysis, combined with repeated dynamic triaxial test, selects Wei Mi permanent deformation estimate model as the loose aggregate permanent deformation of the estimate model, using 1stopt statistical analysis software carries on the nonlinear curve fit for the parameter, obtained two kinds of norms of graded broken stone aggregates forecast model of the correlation among the types: permanent deformation of the coefficient and water content and resilient modulus, and their reliability was analyzed. Analysis result shows that when load acting time reaches 10 000, the minimum and average correlative coefficients of the regression formulas is 0.4144, 0.6340 and 0.5080, which is greater than the critical value of 0.3993, and the correlative coefficient between theoretical curve and measured one is more than 0.96. So the reliability of the proposed prediction formulas of permanent deformation for graded gravel is higher, can be used to forecast China's Asphalt Pavement Rutting.

By observation of vertex phenomenon around single-cylinder pier, combined with the observation of flow pattern, the determination of water level, flow velocity, etc., the paper studies the three-dimensional flow pattern around single cylindrical piers and hydrodynamic characteristics of single cylindrical pier. The results show: With the flow increases, the flow velocity around the cylinder significantly increases, vertex flow behind the cylinder is more intense, transverse vertex flow shows more obvious, but the width of the vertex flow around gradually decreases. Under the same flow velocity, the flow velocity decreases in front of the cylinder, and dramatically increases on both sides of the cylinder, and decreases behind the cylinder, as flow's direction is irregular, accompanied by a whirlpool appearance. The farther the distance from the pier, the more smooth the flow pattern. Since the flow meets the cylinder under a certain flow velocity, the horizontal flow velocity firstly increases and then decreases. The trend of vertical velocity is the same as the horizontal flow velocity.The longer the process of the vertex flow, the faster the velocity of the flow is.

By measuring the of velocity around multi-level bridge piers with different intersection angles between bridge axle and flow direction in fixed bed, the paper studies velocity distribution and hydrodynamic characteristics of bridge piers with different intersection angles between bridge axle and flow direction. The results show that bridge piers are arranged at different intersection angles between bridge axle and flow direction; that the piers influence each other, and that the piers in the upstream influence flow structure of the piers in the downstream. The disturbance can be attributed to three causes: near, shearing, and wake stream. When bridge piers are arranged at orthogonality between bridge axle and flow direction, velocity fluctuation in front of the piers or behind the pier is the biggest, but the affected region is the smallest. The smaller the intersection angle between bridge axle and flow direction bridge piers are arranged, the bigger velocity fluctuation in front of the piers or behind the pier, but the smaller the affected region.

Through the experimental analysis on performance of the water permeability and conservation and the shear resistance of graded gravel base, the influencing factors and changing rules, as well as the internal relations of the drainage ability and structural performance are found out; the key factor for balancing the contradiction lies in the scope and content of the fine aggregates of graded gravel. Provided that other constraint conditions are met during the gradation design, good water permeability and conservation performance of graded gravel permeable base shall be guaranteed as long as the content of the fine aggregates of graded gravel could be controlled within a reasonable scope, meanwhile, the mechanical stability could also be ensured. The paper provides the method for determining the content scope of fine aggregates of graded gravel, and references for the design of graded gravel permeable base of the porous pavement. © (2011) Trans Tech Publications.

A concrete tied arch bridge with different initial defects is analyzed in the paper by means of linear, geometric nonlinear, material nonlinear, and dual nonlinear (geometric nonlinear and material nonlinear) methods respectively, and the nonlinear influence on the analysis results of concrete tied arch bridge is studied. The effects of different initial defects on concrete tied arch bridge are also studied by dual nonlinear method. The results show: In order to get accurate results, the influence of geometric nonlinearity and material nonlinearity must be considered when studying the ultimate load carrying capacity of concrete tied arch bridges; the initial geometric defects out plane have little influence on the analysis results of the concrete tied arch bridge;and initial geometric defects in plane have much more influence on the analysis results of concrete tied arch bridge than that of the out plane. The permissive arch axis departure in Chinese code can be relaxed properly, and the permissive arch axis departure rage out plane should be larger than that in plane.

Using ordinary material, calculating through the external addition method and then adjusting through experimental tests, the mixing proportion of cement mortar is determined. The testing results show that: when the water cement ratio is 0.50, the fly ash content is too large and the strength of cement mortar will sharply decrease with the increase of its content. Therefore, the fly ash content in engineering cannot exceed 30% of the gelled material. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications.

Through a series of laboratory experiments, we find that: Polypropylene fiber mesh, which is added to the concrete, can improve the performance of the road. But the use of polypropylene fiber mesh is not the higher the better. The recommended content is 0.9 Kg/m3. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications.
