In view of the market demand of the self-propelled power supply vehicles, and many problems such as the voltage and current load characteristics of present mobile power plants being unable to meet the operating requirement, the low engine utilization rate, majority of them being not self-propelled, singleness of function, suitable to lesser regions, on the basis of the existing self-propelled vehicle chassis, utilizing modern design theory and method, by virtue of computer analyzing and processing software such as ANSYS, ADAMS and Matlab, and through optimal matching of engine and driving system, an electronic governing system is developed, rubber crawler travel mechanism is rationally configured, a variety of auxiliary facilities on job site are equipped, a 100 kW series multi-purpose self-propelled power vehicles of high stability for all-terrain are manufactured. Its whole dynamic property and economical efficiency are simulated and optimized, the load stability of the power, the passing ability and utilization rate of power supply vehicles are markedly increased, the applicable regions are expanded. The prototype is tested and authenticated by related national quality inspection administration, which confirms that all indexes of the vehicle meet or exceed the requirements of national standards. Now the products are batch produced stably and win good comments from users. © 2010 Journal of Mechanical Engineering.

Aimed at casting quality problems of caterpillar board casting in coal mining roadheader during the early stage of development, simulation analysis on original project was carried out by InteCAST software and the optimized project was proposed. The filling process simulation results show that for the original project, two sides of caterpillar board fill faster than the middle part with pin lug, it easily results in air entrapment phenomenon. While for the optimized project, liquid metal fills uniformly the casting cavity, uneven filling and air entrapment phenomenon of the original process are eliminated. Solidification process simulation results show that there were no significant differences between the original project and the optimized project, riser design is reasonable and risers have good feeding effect. Consequently mass production has confirmed that the quality problem of caterpillar board castings has been effectively solved during the early stage of development. © 2016, Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. Shrinkage defect is a serious problem encountered during the development of automobile wheel hub made from ductile cast iron. In order to find out the reason for shrinkage formation and eliminate it in time, numerical simulation technology was performed to analyze the casting solidification process, and two modified casting projects were brought forward. Based on the simulation result, the solidification characteristics of the original project were compared with two modified projects and accordingly the optimized casting project with chill and rider feeding was selected for application during the development of the wheel hub. The result shows that casting shrinkage defect has been effectively controlled and the trial production cycle of the wheel hub was significantly shortened.

The resistance strain type turning dynamometer is calibrated on ordinary lathe directly, which used by a set of self-made calibration device. Weights loading methods is adopted in the device in X, Y, Z three direction. The heat treatment process of 31Mn2SiREB cast steel used in crawler shoes is directly lifted from the heat treatment process of Mn13 high-manganese cast steel, i. e., quenching at 1050 °C after casting. The reasonableness of the process needs to be surveyed. In this paper, the effects of quenching temperature and diffusion annealing pre-treatment on mechanical properties, micro-area composition uniformity and micro-hardness uniformity were investigated. For quenching after casting, the tensile strength and impact energy increase observably with the elevation of quenching temperature, but the impact energy at higher quenching temperature is still very small. The fluctuation of micro-hardness and chemical composition at different micro-areas becomes obviously small with the increase of quenching temperature. For quenching after a diffusion annealing pre-treatment, the impact energy is very high and up to 36.3 J. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Two kinds of high strength gray cast iron for engine cylinder with the same tensile strength were prepared in the experiment, by adding the same alloy elements but selecting two different inoculants of BaSi/SrSi. The mechanical properties and microstructure of two kinds of samples were comparatively studied and the machinability was evaluated through the cutting force and cutting-tool wear. The results show that the two kinds of samples with the same tensile strength and approximate hardness; the section sensitivity of the sample inoculated by SrSi are better than BaSi; under the same conditions, during cutting the sample inoculated by BaSi, the cutting-tool wear is more serious, and the reticular crack of tool nose is more; 7% resultant tool force was reduced in cutting the sample inoculated by SrSi in contrast with BaSi. ©, 2015, Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. With the increase of quenching temperature, the fluctuations of micro-hardness and chemical composition at different micro-areas become obviously small. This means that the relatively homogeneous structure and composition can be acquired in higher temperature. The as-cast microstructure is extremely uneven, so pre-treatment process of normalizing or diffusion annealing ought to be carried out before quenching treatment, and quenching temperature should not be too high.

Per-heat treatment experiments including normalizing at 1050 °C and double normalizing at 1050 °C/900 °C were carried out on ZG31Mn2SiREB steel for track plate. The effect of pre-heat treatment process on microstructure and mechanical properties of quenched ZG31Mn2SiREB steel was investigated. The results show that the as-cast microstructure of ZG31Mn2SiREB steel is coarse and uneven, its microhardness distribution after direct quenching is extremely uneven, and the impact energy is low, the microstructure and mechanical properties of ZG31Mn2SiREB steel are improved by single normalizing, especially by double normalizing, the microstructure is fine, the microhardness distribution is even and the impact energy is enhanced greatly.
