The watershed ecosystem influence of the hydroelectric cascade development has become an emphasis and difficulty when assessing the water resources for construction projects. It is the problem that the Guideline for assessment of water-draw and utilization in construction projects(for trial implementation) needs to be solved urgently. To help assess water-draw and utilization in hydropower station and provide the basis to revise the Guideline for assessment of water-draw and utilization in construction projects (for trial implementation), and achieve harmonious with human being,this paper puts emphasis on the two aspects of watershed ecosystem and hydrological regime to analyse the impact of watershed ecosystem by cascade hydropower stations and puts forward corresponding effective measures. This will be a certain theoretical meaning and practical guiding role to hydropower cascade development research and water resources assessment. © 2011 IEEE.

This paper proposes an energy dissipation device based on shape memory alloys (SMA) for frame structures. By setting anchorage device below and near the inflection point of the first storey columns, a set of force cable and energy dissipation cable using SMA are installed symmetrically in the anchorage device and the bottom of them fixed in the ground. Analytical study including the push-over and time-history analysis were investigated by ANSYS finite element program to a new CFST frame and an ordinary CFST frame. Studies have shown that the device can effectively control the structural displacement response and acceleration response, dissipating large amounts of earthquake energy. Therefore, the energy dissipation devices had a better value and prospects in engineering. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Based on the community theory, from the practice characteristic of the county urban and rural settlements, this paper analyzes the problems in concrete technology practice and science research, optimizes and reconstructs the residential system. With Yan Chang County of Yan'an City as an example, carried out the research and tested the application of the framework. Construction of the frame system coupled the relationships between the county settlement system and the community theory, which more expressed a kind of thought method and a concept of value, so then put forward the technical path of the urban and rural settlement system construction. At the same time, according to the urban and rural harmonious development, guided and constructed the urban and rural residential system with Shaanxi characteristic, which inferred with its space layout, scale, structure and planning method.

In order to solve the problems, such as the type transformation between schools, the school resource shortage and waste which caused by the primary and secondary school distribution adjustment, and to realize the education building more sufficient value, the paper put forward the method of space plan, which is based on the literature review, empirical refining and systematic summary. Meanwhile, applies them in the primary and secondary schools distribution adjustment of Tongchuan city Yintai area. The paper defines the concept of vernacular landscape of the north-west arid region, that is the rural complex ecosystem which is able to fully adapt to the natural environment and reflect the special people-land relationship of the arid areas. According to the differences of main areas of research and discipline, the paper describes the research status of vernacular landscape of the arid region from 4 aspects i. e. the landscape pattern and process, the land resources and water resources using, the settlement landscape and the landscape planning and design. Then, the paper sums up three features of previous research-Continuous expansion of the subject areas continue, and empirical research as the lead and use of diversification of research methods. In the end, the paper puts forward the outlook of future research as deepening of the basic theory and the underlying mechanism, and diverse exploration and paradigm convergence of the discipline.

Supplying air with ball spout air diffusers is a common air-conditioning system for air distribution in large space stadiums. When supplying hot air with ball spout diffusers in winter, the phenomenon of hot jet upturning may appear, so the design should consider adjusting the spout angle so as to control the rising airflow. The purpose of the paper is to predict and optimize the air distribution of a tennis hall in winter for the purpose of guiding the design and regulation of air-conditioning system. Based on the optimal scheme of summer conditions, using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique, the air distribution and indoor thermal environment of a tennis hall in winter were numerically simulated. Two conditions were considered discharging air with spouts downwards with a 30 degree slope and discharging air horizontally. Indoor thermal environment was evaluated from two case studies including the protection of the movement of the ball and thermal comfort of the human body, and consequently, the optimal design was then proposed. The results can provide some guidance for air distribution design and spout regulation in winter conditions of air-conditioning systems in similar tennis halls.

Aerobic granular sludge that could simultaneously remove nitrogen and phosphorus was cultivated in a sequencing batch reactor (SBR). Three groups were divided using 100-, 60- and 40-mesh sieves resulting the size ranges were 150-280 μm, 280-450 μm and >450 μm, respectively, and the physicochemical properties of different groups were analyzed. Results showed that during the initial period of granulation (7-18 d), the compact granules could provide the anaerobic niche for the substrate the competition between GAOs and PAOs; and the compact granules was favorable for the enrichment and growth of PAOs, resulting in different phosphorous fractions in different size of granules: granules with the size of 280-450 μm exhibited the highest content of organic phosphorous faction, i.e., 113.25 mg·g-1. In contrast, these granules showed the lowest content of inorganic phosphorous fraction, i.e., 15.55 mg·g-1. In a later period, the content of organic phosphorous fraction in granules was similar after 34 d about 50 mg·g-1 , and the inorganic phosphorous fraction became similar after 52 d was 70 mg·g-1 , and the total organic phosphorous fraction of sludge in the reactor were higher than those in the solids effluent. The phosphorous fraction in different size granules was affected by the sludge retention time. The total phosphorous accounted for 11% of total weight of sludge, and the inorganic phosphorous accounted 4.24%. Additionally, the settling velocity, specific weight of bigger granules were higher than the smaller one, and these values were well correlated with total phosphorous. Concerning on denitrification, bigger and smaller granules showed high denitrification efficiency, and the gradient of NO3 --N between inside of granules and bulk solution was an important factor for denitrification rate.

Combining with performance grades of reinforced concrete structures at home and abroad, the seismic performance of masonry-infilled frame structures can be induced into five levels: basically normal, slight damage, medium damage, severe damage and collapse prevention. The limit states of all seismic performance levels and their dominating parameters of masonry-infilled frame structures are put forward, and quantified performance index of this structure are obtained on the basis of statistical test data. The seismic response of pure and masonry-infilled frame structures are compared by using capacity spectrum method and equivalent strut model, and the result indicates that the structure could meet predetermined performance objective under the minor and major earthquake levels by comparing the practical story drift and proposed performance index. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Pure silicide coatings and Y-Cemodified silicide coatings were prepared on Ti-6Al-4V alloy by pack cementation process. The coating structures as well as their wear behaviours were comparatively studied. The results showed that the pure silicide coating and Y-Ce modified silicide coating prepared at 1080C for 4 h had similar coating structures, mainly consisting of a TiSi2 outer layer, a TiSi middle layer and a Ti5Si4 inner layer. However, the microhardness of the Y-Ce modified silicide coating was higher than that of the pure silicide coating. The wear tests demonstrated that the mass loss of the pure silicide coating was about two times larger than that of the Y-Ce modified silicide coating, indicating the beneficial effects of Y and Ce on the wear resistance of silicide coating. © 2015 Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.

Pure silicide coating and Y-Ce modified silicide coating were prepared on Ti-6Al-4V alloy by pack-cementation process. The structures as well as the isothermal oxidation behaviors of the coatings were comparatively studied. The results showed that both pure silicide coating and Y-Ce modified silicide coating prepared at 1080°C for 4 h were composed of a TiSi2 outer layer, a TiSi middle layer and a Ti5Si4 inner layer. The oxidation tests showed that the Y-Ce modified silicide coating possessed much better oxidation resistance than the pure silicide coating at 1000°C, implying the beneficial effects of Y and Ce on the oxidation resistance of the coating. © 2015 The Chinese Society of Rare Earths.
