CRH series Electric Multiple Units (EMUs) are equipped with a variety of advanced sensors and diagnostic units, which can generate real-time monitoring and diagnostic data representing the current technical states of their essential sub-systems. Timely acquiring and analyzing the monitoring and diagnostic data is significant for operation monitoring, emergency response and routine maintenance. To relieve the inconvenience of uploading and handling the data from different types of EMUs and to enhance the efficiency and effects of utilizing the dynamic data, the railway operation authority launched a project to work out an integrated solution and focus on formulating related technical specifications to build a unified train data wireless transmission and management system for CRH series EMUs. This paper addresses the requirements for such a unified system and summarizes the preliminary results of the project. © 2012 WIT Press.

To improve the control performance of parallel connected induction motors fed by a single inverter in high speed train under different wheels radius and various adhesion, a novel control strategy based on the weighted vector control is proposed. In this paper, a weighted flux linkage vector model of dual induction motors is developed, and then the control expressions of weighted rotor flux linkage and summation torque are derived. And then a adhesion control method combined optimum adhesion control and weighted vector control is proposed. The weighted value of vector control is distributed automatically according to the wheels radius and adhesion condition of each motor. The simulation results prove that the proposed method can decrease the torque difference of each motor caused by different wheels radius and increase the summation torque under the slip/skid situation. © Civil-Comp Press, 2014.

Crack of 9Cr18MoV steel traction pin during induction hardening was analyzed by chemical composition analysis, structure and microstructure examination. The results show that the steel carbon content in the 9Cr18MoV steel is exceeded the standard limit,the heating temperature exceeds the requirement, overheating results in coarse grain and network carbide precipitated along the grain boundary of the steel, and then the traction pin cracks during high frequency hardening.
