A positive dialkyl dithiocarbonates collector S-dodecyl O-isopropyl dithiocarbonate (DIDTC) was synthesized and used in the flotation separation of chalcopyrite from pyrite. The results of flotation test indicated that DIDTC collector had better selectivity than butyl xanthate. UV-vis spectra demonstrated that DIDTC showed more affinities to Cu2+ ions than to Fe3+ ions. FTIR spectra and adsorption test were executed to study the adsorption mechanism of DIDTC to chalcopyrite. The results elucidated that DIDTC might bond copper atoms of chalcopyrite surface with its sulfur and oxygen atoms in alkaline environments, and formed a multilayer at high concentration. In addition, the results were analyzed from the structure-activity of collectors by generalized perturbation theory and density functional calculation with GGA/PW91 as exchange correlation functional. © 2015, Editorial Department of Journal of Northeastern University. The Liangcun granites outcrop within Liangcun town, Xingguo county, in the south of Jiangxi province. The Liangcun granites are product of the PhaseImagmatism of the Early Yanshanian, displaying characteristics of syn-tectonic granite. The batholith consists mainly of biotite-granite which is intruded by the latter stages of dimicaceous-granite and granodiorite. The Liangcun granites are peraluminous to strongly peraluminous, and show LREE enriched patterns. The Liangcun granites are "S-type" or crustal remelting granite derived from low degree partial melting of crustal materials. The LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating results of 4 granite samples indicate that the Liangcun granites were emplaced at 158 to 147 Ma, i.e., the Late Jurassic. The cooling and crystallization of the Liangcun granites may have lasted ~10 Ma as suggested by the isotopic ages.

Mn-Ti oxides in Si-Mn-Ti deoxidized steels after cooling in the furnace were investigated. The composition and morphology of inclusions were analyzed by using FE-SEM with EDS. Mn-Ti oxides were found to be effective sites to induce intragranular ferrite formation. The thermodynamic calculation was employed to interpret the critical condition for Mn-Ti oxide formation. Mn-Ti oxide formation was controlled not only by Mn and Ti content, but also by total oxygen content in steel. When the Mn and Ti contents were around 1.5% and 0.005%-0.01%, respectively, Mn-Ti oxide could form as the total oxygen content was 0.001%-0.002%. The experimental results were in good agreement with thermodynamic calculation results. Also, MnS solubility was examined in Mn-Ti oxide inclusion system. With an increase of MnO content in Mn-Ti oxide, MnS solubility in the oxides increased. MnS precipitation benefited from high MnO content in Mn-Ti oxide. © 2010 Central Iron and Steel Research Institute.

Based on measured data of sticking-type breakout for slab continuous casting in a domestic steel plant, mould temperature change following slab sticking was investigated. And propagation behavior of sticker was studied. Furthermore, the rationality of the thermocouples' arrangement and design of breakout prediction model were discussed. The results show that: for the sticker, the change of each thermocouple's temperature rise first and then fall over time, the rise and fall have a certain temperature change rate and duration, the time lag of abnormal temperature changes is revealed in neighboring thermocouples, and temperature inversion between thermocouples in the same column is displayed, but not typical. The sticker's propagation speed in vertical direction is lesser than casting speed, which is positive correlation with the casting speed. The ratio between the sticker's propagation speed in horizontal direction and casting speed is from 0. 91 to 1. 91, which is unstable. From a comprehensive consideration on fast, slow and stability of vertical and horizontal detection, the design of breakout prediction model should consider vertical detection mainly, and vertical detection as supplement. The present arrangement of the thermocouples is appropriate.

Linglong Gold deposit is one of largest quartz vein gold deposits in Jiaodong region. Its resources quantity was seriously reduced by about 50 years mining, so it is very important to evaluate the deep resources potential and prospecting. Based on genetic and prospecting mineralogy theory, the pyrite which is main mineral loaded gold has been studied systemtically on the typomorphic characteristics by the mineralogy and mineral geochemistry methods. The results showed that the following typomorphic characteristics of the pyrite are very significant for prospecting: (1) the fine grain pyrite with irregular pyritohedron or complicated combinate form are gold enriched; (2) the S/Fe value increases with depth increasing; (3) high total quantities of trace elements in pyrite is one of important signature for prospecting enriched gold body, and the rare earth elements characteristics showed that the pyrite came from the earth deep; (4) the occurrence rate of the P-conductor type pyrite are more than 60% for the gold vein No.55 in the Western Mountain mine area, and the denudation degree is about 36.67%-47.73%, which means that the prospecting potential will be better in deep of the vein; (5) the trace element (As+Sb+Te), (Cu+Pb+Zn) and (Co+Ni+Ti+Cr) assemblies in pyrite are varied as cyclic oscillation along vertical in the Eastern Mountain area, and the occurrence rate of the P-conductor type pyrite is more than 39.63% in average, and the denudation degree is about 32.92%-75.40%, suggesting that the prospecting potential will be better in deep of the area; and (6) the thermoelectricity mapping of pyrite for the gold vein No.47 at Dakaitou in the Eastern Mountain area was carried out, and the result showed that great prospecting potential exists under -770 m elevation between exploration line 93 and 75, also between exploration line 72 and 63. All the typomorphic characteristics of the pyrite mentioned above are very significant for deep gold prospecting in Linglong gold mine.
