A method of pressing mats with a continuous press comprises: detecting the thickness of the mat on the conveyor belt; comparing the detected thickness of the mat with a predetermined thickness of the mat to determine a start point of the conveyor belt with respect to an feed inlet with a fixed press curved surface shape and a press gap between upper and lower heated press plates; controlling a driving device of the conveyor belt by a controller to move the conveyor belt to make the front of the conveyor belt reach the start point, and adjusting the press gap between the upper and lower heated press plates to a preset value by controlling control cylinders. The invention further provides an apparatus for performing the method. According to the invention, the method may produce press panels with high quality.

In view of the special structure of bamboo, bamboo OSB flaker was developed. Development concept, mechanical and hydraulic design were presented. Then bamboo OSB flaker was tested run. Bamboo flake processed by bamboo OSB flaker was pressed into bamboo OSB, and the main physical and mechanical properties were tested and researched. The results indicated that bamboo flake with high quality shape could be sliced, which made the even distribution of outer of bamboo in the bamboo flake. Moreover, the bamboo OSB flaker has the characteristics of high efficiency, minor impact vibration and etc. The tests show that the key performance indicators of bamboo OSB are higher than the standards of LY/T 1580-2000 (OSB/4). Therefore, the research and design of bamboo OSB flaker is reasonable and effective.

Adjustability of infeed angle is of great importance to design and use of the whole continuous flat press which is used to produce wood-based panels. Based on the capability of bending deformation of the steel, a method using bending deformation of integral infeed upper hot platen shaped as rectangular in cross section to adjust infeed angle was put forward. On the basis of analyzing curving principle of bending deformation and deducing geometrical relationship between radius of curvature and height of curving, bending strength of infeed upper hot platen was calculated by simulation and a distributed system as well as human-computer interaction control system based on fieldbus was established. Displacement gradient progressive-approximation algorithm used for hydraulic cylinders was set up and the system was applied to continuous flat press designed in China. The results showed that bending deformation of upper hot platen met requirements of bending strength, the method of adjusting infeed angle and the control algorithm could be used to achieve progressivity of displacement changing for hydraulic cylinders and dynamic adjusting of infeed angle, and the control precision could be reached by field debugging. The maximum error was 0.4 mm between theoretical and practical value, and maximum horizontal difference was 0.6 mm when radius of curvature was 100 000 mm. ©, 2015, Chinese Society of Agricultural Machinery. The hot platen needs to be lifted and descended integrally, and to be kept in horizontal level during the process which was realized by position synchronization control of multiple group hydraulic cylinders. It is a difficult point in control of continuous flat press. In order to solve this problem, a ramp type successive-approximation algorithm was proposed. The algorithm can dynamically select one group of hydraulic cylinder as "virtual main system", and the other groups as "slave system" according to the actual displacement of the hydraulic cylinders in any control cycle. Then the virtual main system can gradually approach the target value step-by-step with a certain ramp. At the same time the slave system tracks the virtual main system in real time, so that it can be realized that the multiple group hydraulic cylinders move synchronously during the lifting and descending process. The algorithm was simulated in Matlab. Then the algorithm was applied to the continuous flat press production line designed by China Foma (Group)Co., Ltd. Production practice indicates that the algorithm can solve the interaction and influence between the multiple group hydraulic cylinders in movement effectively. The synchronous error of the lifting and descending process is 0.5 mm and 0.6 mm respectively. The shock of hydraulic components is less, the process is smooth and the control precision can meet technological requirements.
