This paper puts forward a corresponding value engineering analysis model using the theory of value engineering and analytic hierarchy process (AHP), and the research of project management optimization technology based on the actual case of a high-rise building. Based on the model, we evaluate its function and cost and deduce the corresponding model parameters. A multi-objective optimization of management goals is used to achieve safety and quality during the period of construction and cost. In the end - through theory, analysis and practice - the high-rise buildings (based on value engineering optimization analysis model, and through multiple successful cases) verify its effectiveness. © 2014 American Society of Civil Engineers.

At present ballastless track has been widely applied to railway line for passenger in our country, therefore it has broad prospect. Cracks in ballastless track slabs are inevitable in the construction and operation of high-speed railway. Based on comprehensive investigation of documents, and taking cracks in ballastless track slabs as the main object, systematic and deep research has been done within this paper. The main research contents are as follows: First of all, the structure characteristics of CRTSIII ballastless track in high-speed railway are briefly introduced; Secondly, the paper mostly introduces the impacts what cracks make, the characteristics of cracks and how they form. The effect of polypropylene fibres (PP fibres) on fracture properties of ultra high strength concrete (UHSC), which has compressive strength of more than 100 MPa, were studied by the method of three-point bending beam test. The results show that the development of crack in UHSC can be defined in three stages, and PP fibres are more effective to prevent the development of crack in third stage than in first and second stages. Compared to the UHSC without PP fibres added, the fracture energy and toughness of UHSC with 2 kg·m-3 PP fibres of length of 19 mm added are increased by 50.8% and 54.5% respectively, the compressive strengths at different ages are also increased, and the fracture energy and toughness of UHSC with 2 kg·m-3 PP fibres of length of 9 mm added are increased by 45.5% and 29.4% respectively, but the compressive strengths at different ages are decreased. ©, 2015, Tongji University. This paper briefly introduces the concept of BIM5D technology and its application status of Chinese construction industry, which is in association with the practical general contracting management experience concerning with more than 20 BIM demonstration construction projects encompassing Guangzhou Chow Tai Fook Finance Center (Guangzhou East Tower), Guangzhou Zhujiang Newtown J2-5 parcel office buildings, Guiyang Zhongtian Weilaifangzhou (Future Ark), and Dongguan Vanke Residential Industrialization Base that are under our firm's construction. Specifically, the paper discusses the guiding function of BIM application based on Glodon BIM5D platform encompassing collision check, deepening design, drawing management, engineering quantity calculation, simulation scheme, schedule management, and cost management over general contracting management. Also, some suggestions have been given for future BIM application. © 2015 ASCE.
