The multiple suspended latticed steel beam structure consists of the single-layer grid beam system (upper) and the multiple cables system (lower). The upper single-layer system is composed of the two-way orthogonal continuous grid beams, while the lower cables system is composed of major cables, secondary cables, vertical struts and inclined steel rods. The two parts work together and form the whole spatial structure. By prestressing the major and secondary cables, the struts are compressed and the upper beam system is cambered into arch shape, resulting in improved mechanism and deformation performance of the upper single-layer beam system. By selection analysis of steel structural system for the Shanxi Olympic Gymnasium, the mechanical behavior and deformation of the multiple suspended beam structure and the single-layer beam system were compared. It shows that the multiple suspended beam structure has a better spatial effect and improved mechanical characteristics. The bearing capacity and the stability of the whole structure can be enhanced.

With the urbanization and environment problem serious, Green building was widely spread throughout the world. Green building is a high performance building that is saving energy and efficient water using, has a longer life cycle than conventional buildings, produces less pollution. So, it was widely used recently years in China, as appoint to the green building composition and marked methods, at the same time account for the concept and technology characteristics of low impact development, the relationship between low impact development and green building was analyzed. Taking Wanke Center project for example, this paper describes low impact development techniques application in the green buildings, such as green roof, rain garden, grass swale, infiltration pipes, and so on. An integrate water management design was adopt, runoff, landscape watershed and gray water system were designed integration. 90% annual runoff was controlled, and more than 30% non-traditional water was reused. The low impact development project was achieved remarkable economic, environment and social benefit, and won the platinum gold of leadership in energy & environmental design (LEED) in America. © 2011 IEEE.

Large amount pollutants settle and accumulate in storm sewer when cleanout is not in time or available. Those sediments will re-suspend and discharge to receiving waters in wet weather. Contaminations in sewer stormwater come from both catchment and sewer. Discharge law of different source pollutants is analyzed in theory and with experimental results. Pollutant discharge law from catchment accords with exponential washoff model, but sediment pollutants in sewer fit rating curve washoff model well. Analysis shows that the more the sediments is, the weaker the first flush effects will be. It is better to control diffused pollution on sit (source control), for those stormwater quality facilities run with high efficiency as they are based on capture and treating first part of runoff. It is also important to intensify clean and maintenance of storm sewer system to avoid sediment and accumulation of contaminations. © 2011 IEEE.
