Based on the engineering experience of pulping & papermaking effluent treatment, it is suggested that the treatment technology selection must consider the source of the effluent, the pulping and papermaking process used, and the pollutant load per unit product. Meanwhile the treatment parameters such as reaction temperature, pH value, pre-acidation, nutrient dosage must be controlled reasonably. Be careful to simply copy other effluent treatment technology, instead, the effluent treatment scheme must be designed properly based on other paper mills experiences where the similar effluent was treated.
