To realize continuous firing with electromagnetic launchers, we put forward a new type of integrated projectile along with a continuous firing electromagnetic launcher, the launching process of which was then studied through dynamic numerical simulation and launching experiments. The simulations indicated that the interval between pulse trigger signals can't be too short, or it will affect the dynamic performance of projectiles negatively; an appropriately enlarged interval not only enables the control of fire rate but also improves launch efficiency. The experimental results show that the average firing rate of the launcher system reaches 2 609 and 3 488 entries per minute when the intervals are 25 ms and 10 ms respectively, and it could be further increased. ©, 2015, Science Press.
