To extend the scope and application of 3D models, annotating engineering knowledge to 3D model had become a trend. On the basis of defining Model Based Definition (MBD) data set as 3D annotation model, the concept of 3D elucidation model was put forward. Through the discussion on engineering knowledge classification, organization and storage technology, 3D model knowledge annotation method was proposed which used to construct 3D elucidation model. In this method, the heterogeneous knowledge was represented and processed with vector space model, and the intention knowledge was taken as the input to realize the semiautomatic 3D model knowledge annotation. Through the development and implementation of prototype system, 3D model knowledge annotation method was demonstrated by the example of engine fuel injector, which proved the validity of the proposed method. © 2017, Editorial Department of CIMS. Red phosphorus (RP) a highly efficient smoke-producing agent. In this study different contents of RP are added into the Magnesium/PTFE/Viton (MTV)-based composition, with the aim of investigating the influence of RP on the burning and radiance properties of MTV-based composition by using a high-temperature differential thermobalance method, a Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) remote-sensing spectrometer, a FTIR Spectrometer and a far-infrared thermal imager. The results show that RP improves the initial reaction temperature and reduces the mass burning rate by 0.1–0.17 g·s−1 (34–59%). The addition of RP has no obvious effect on the burning temperature and far-infrared radiation brightness, but the radiating area raises substantially (by 141%), and thus improves the radiation intensity (by 155%). © 2017 Elsevier B.V.

Based on the Euler-Euler method, the Mixture model is used to simulate the snow drifting around a building model by means of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software-FLUENT. During simulating, the Finite Volume Method and SIMPLE technology (Semi-Implicit Method for Pressure-Linked Equations) have been used. Saltation as well as suspension are taken into consideration. Firstly, the snow drifting around a snow fence is simulated. Through comparing different turbulence models, it can be proved that the k-kl-w model had good suitability and effectiveness. Then the snow drifting around a cube model is simulated. Compared with field measurements, the computational results of snow distribution are consistent with the real-scale field measurement that validates the numerical simulation effectiveness.

In this paper, a novel recognition scheme is proposed for identifying the aircrafts of different types based on multiple modular neural network classifiers. Three moment invariants including Hu moments, Zernike moments and Wavelet moments are extracted from the characteristics exhibited by aircrafts and used as the input variables of each modular neural network respectively. Each modular neural network consists of multiple single-hidden layer feedforward networks which are trained using the extreme learning machine and different clustering data subsets. A clustering and selection method is used to get the classification rate of each modular neural network and then based on their weighted sum the final classification output is obtained. The proposed recognition scheme is finally evaluated by recognizing six different types of aircraft models and the simulation results show the superiority of the proposed method compared with the single ELM classifier and other classification algorithms. © 2013 Elsevier B.V.

The paper introduces the basic principles of vertical bearing capacity of the pile by usingstatic load test, establish the random site theory model of the bearing capacity of prestressed pipe pilefoundations calculation, calculates and statistics the try count ratio of vertical bearing capacity of 144prestressed pipe pile in Tianjin, work out calculation procedures of JC method, calculate reliabilityindex of vertical bearing capacity and analyze calculation results. According to the raw multi-source data, all strata should be standardized. With the aid ofthe cubic spline interpolation function, the virtual drilling could be created. With the help ofDeluanay triangulation, every stratum is turned to triangular net, namely initial stratum surface. A toptriangle of stratum is connected with a corresponding bottom triangle of stratum in the net. It makes atriangular prism unit. Finally, according to certain rules, numerous triangular prism units areassembled orderly to form a geologic body. Based on the impact of deep foundation pit excavation to the adjacent history style construction, FLAC3D was adopted to establish the excavation and supporting calculation model of a pit in Tianjin. The excavation deformation was analyzed, and the contact slip effect of the supporting structure and soil was considered. The results of study are as follows. (1) The pit has been dig to the third layer, and the values calculated are consistent with the monitored ones by comparing simulation values and measured results on B1 section. (2) Digging to the bottom of the pit, we can predict the biggest horizontal displacement of soil is 34.6 mm, and the value is 11.2mm in the history style construction. Therefore, the results of the study can play a guiding role in the engineering construction safety. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The stress and its distribution in the structure with differential settlement were calculated. In connection with the highly nonlinear and uncertainty of fire prediction of the city building, particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used to optimize the wavelet neural network (WNN), so as to establish the fire accident time series prediction model. The improved model is applied in the experimental simulation training and forecasting of the number that the fire broke out of a city building. The simulation application results show that the network output and expected values are in good agreement, and the convergence speed and generalization ability is much improved. So the model can be used to analyze and forecast the fire and thus provide a scientific basis and decision-making guidance for fire police, investment in facilities and the city's comprehensive disaster prevention and mitigation of fire safety management department.

Axiomatic Design (AD) provides designers with two axioms as criteria for design decision-making. The integration of AD with Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) is expected to effectively improve design activities. A computer-supported axiomatic design system integrating TRIZ methods was proposed to help designers obtain innovative solutions and make right decisions. Within the AD framework, TRIZ not only can be applied to adjust design parameters when the design is coupled, but also be used to describe functional requirements and directly obtain proper solutions. A fuzzy design scheme evaluation method was presented to improve the implementation of the information axiom. Finally, a computer aided design prototype system based on the proposed model was developed. And a case study of the structure improvement of a faucet demonstrated the validity and practicability of the system. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
