This work is focused on a photovoltaic system with a three-level neutral-point-clamped quasi-z-source inverter. The maximum power point tracking algorithms based on dP/dV feedback, perturb and observe and incremental conductance have been adapted and tested in this topology using the shoot-through duty cycle as control variable. Simulation results using SimPowerSystem from Matlab/Simulink are presented. © 2013 IEEE.

This paper presents a new step-up DC/DC converter topology. The converter is intended for applications that require a high gain of the input voltage and galvanic isolation, i.e. power conditioning systems for alternative energy sources such as fuel cells. The operation principle of the converter is explained by help of a steady state analysis. Simulation results are presented and analyzed. Finally, the experimental results are provided and a modification possibility of the proposed converter is discussed. © 2012 IEEE.

The three-level neutral point clamped quasi-Z-source inverter has been proposed recently. Due to its features the neutral point clamped quasi-Z-source inverter is especially suitable for renewable energy sources. This topology requires special control methods and respectively new element basis can be used for control implementation. Current paper describes the control system implemented, based on FPGA for a three-level neutral point clamped quasi-Z-source inverter and the control signals obtained. © 2012 IEEE.

This paper presents a CCM analysis of a new modification of a three-level single phase neutral-point-clamped inverter. The proposed topology combines advantages of the three-level neutral-point-clamped full-bridge inverter with those of the quasi-Z-source inverter. The three-level neutral-point-clamped quasi-Z-source inverter is especially suitable for renewable energy sources. The steady-state analysis of a three-level neutral-point-clamped quasi-Z-source inverter in the case of the continuous conduction mode is presented. The conditions of the continuous conduction mode are obtained and analyzed. © 2012 IEEE.

Focus is on the stability analysis of the quasi-Z-Source (qZS) DC/DC converter based on a small signal model. Control system of the converter is described and its transfer function for the small signal model is presented. The stability estimation was carried out. The results of the analytical analysis, simulation and experimental investigation showed that a DC/DC converter based on the qZS-network has limited but predictable stability margin. © 2012 IEEE.

Peculiarities of DC/DC converters based on the qZS-network were considered. Control system of the converter is described. By means of small signal model of transfer function the stability analyzes was performed. The results of the analytical analysis and experimental investigation showed that a DC/DC converter based on the qZS-network has limited but predictable stability margin. The area of coefficients of PI-regulator in which the system is stable was found. It was shown that stability margin depends on coefficients of PI-regulator and operation point of the converter.

The model of acoustic emission signal formation during friction and wearing of surfaces of composite materials was examined. The forms of acoustic emission resultant signals were shown. The regularities of parameter change in acoustic emission resultant signals with an increasing rotation speed were determined according to the results of modeling. It was found that theoretical and experimental results of acoustic emission signals registered during friction of composite material surface layers agree well. © 2014 Copyright © 2014 Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) Press.
