Nanocellulose and thermoplastic starch polymer (TSP) composite was prepared by solution casting method for the sports industry. As a biological material, this material had special properties of nanomaterials and the rigidity of cellulose, dimensional stability and biodegradable. Such material might be one of the answers to the disposal problem of waste sports equipments. As a reinforcing material, nanocellulose was added to TSP matrix and composites were made with appropriate solvent systems by solution casting methods. Water absorption, degradation and film mechanical performance were evaluated and compared with the pure thermoplastic starch. The tensile strength and modulus of the nanocomposite films reveled significantly enhanced. Compared to the pure thermoplastic starch, the degradation and water absorption increased significantly. By solution casting, nanocellulose and starch composites were successfully prepared, which had excellent mechanical properties and good performance at biological degradation. © (2011) Trans Tech Publications.

This study aims to investigate the hydro- and aerodynamic characteristics of arrows as understood within the field of archery and to contribute to theoretical knowledge, upon which archery techniques are based. The water tunnel and wind tunnel are used to test different arrows consisting of four famous brands.The results showed that when the angles of attack from -6°to 6°, the arrow remained in the state of attached flow. Arrows that had spiral plastic fletches demonstrated better states of flow than arrows with straight fletches. Within the range of the experimental angles of attack, the coefficients of lift increased, while the coefficients of pitching moment decreased when the angle of attack increased. The arrows showed static stability in the longitudinal direction. Arrow fetches also demonstrated considerable influence on the lift and pitching moment. The rolling of the arrows caused the change of the coefficient of lift. Based on the results, it can be concluded that arrow fetches are the major contributors to the arrows' flight stability. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

CON-TREX biomechanical test system was employed in the analysis of flexors and extensors in shoulder joint of throwing arm in women's water polo players. The findings of this study indicated that (a) the peak torque and relative peak torque of extensors are greater than that of flexors, (b) the ratio of flexors to extensors of peak torque is approximately 0.8, (c) the power among water polo players in different levels is similar, however the strength endurance is significant difference, the performance of the strength endurance of the provincial team's players is poorer than that of the national team's players. The author submitted some proposals that the provincial team's players should increase their strength endurance training. © 2014 WIT Press.

As new test cases are generated over time due to softwaremodifications, test suite may grow significantly. Because of time andresource constraints for testing, test suite minimizationtechniques are needed to remove redundant test cases. To achieve the goal, an improved artificial fish swarm algorithm (IAFSA) is proposed for the first time in this paper. The IAFSA constructs the initial population by greedy algorithm to reduce its scale, adjusts vision and step length dynamically and improves the basic preying behavior. The improvements restrain premature convergence and raise the convergence speed of the new algorithm. In other words, we can increase the probability to obtain the global optimum. The comparison of experiment results between greedy algorithm, AFSA and IAFSA demonstrates that the IAFSA has a better global stability to solve the test suite minimization problem effectively and obtain the minimization set of test suite significantly.
