The influence of the ratios of limonite on the basic characteristics of vanadium titanium magnetite was investigated. The results show that the assimilation temperature of vanadium titanium mixed ore decreases with the increasing of the ratio of limonite. The liquid phase fluidity index of vanadium titanium mixed ores rises with the increasing of the ratio of limonite. The binding phase strength of vanadium titanium mixed ores rises at first and then decreases with the increasing of the ratio of limonite. The assimilation temperature of vanadium titanium mixed ores is 1302~1315°C, the liquid phase fluidity index is 1.12~1.32 and the binding phase strength is 4628~5198N in different ratios of limonite. Based on comprehensive utilization of low-priced materials, decrease the cost of production and improve the quality of vanadium-titanium sinter, analyzed the influence of the ratio of limonite on the basic characteristics of vanadium titanium magnetite, the sintering ore-blending scheme is best when the ratio of limonite is 10% and the total ratio of limonite is 37.2%.

Separated granulating sintering was a kind of new sintering process, which included making the concentrate ore into high R material and acidic ball separately, mixing with fuels and returned mine, and taking the compound sintering. The study results show: with the increase of carbon content, the content of calcium ferrite of sinter is decreased, the content of CaO · TiO2 of sinter is increased, the content of hematite of sinter is decreased, the TI and RDI of sinter is improved, the RI of sinter is deteriorated. In summary, high carbon content was not conducive to quality of sinter. It should be around 4.2%.

The effect of mixed ores basic characteristics on tumbler index of vanadium-titanium sinter was investigated. The results show that the tumbler index of vanadium-titanium sinter rises with the increasing of the assimilation temperature of mixed ores. The tumbler index of vanadium-titanium sinter rises at first and then decreases with the increasing of the liquid phase fluidity index of mixed ores. The tumbler index of vanadium-titanium sinter rises with the increasing of the binding phase strength of mixed ores. The tumbler index of vanadium-titanium sinter and basic characteristics of mixed ores were analyzed by SPSS software, the relationship between basic characteristics of mixed ores and the tumbler index of vanadium-titanium sinter was obtained.

CaO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 glass-ceramics were prepared adopting blast furnace slag as the main raw material by melting method. Effects of addition of nucleation agents on crystallization thermodynamics of the glass-ceramics were investigated by means of DTA, XRD, SEM and thermodynamic calculation. The calculating results show that the crystalline phases at the crystallization temperature of 966℃ are diopside, anorthite and wollastonite as major phases with quartz and magnesia-chrome as minor phases when 2 mass% Cr2O3 is added as nucleating agent. At the same condition the crystalline phases are aluminian diopside, tschermark's pyroxene and diopside as major phases by XRD. By thermodynamic calculation the crystalline phases at the crystallization temperature of 910℃ are devitrite, nepheline, hydroxyapatite and forsterite as major phases and diopside, albite and fluorapatite as minor phases when 8 mass% P2O5(added by Na3(PO4) ·12H2O) is added as nucleating agent. The crystalline phases of hydroxyapatite and fluorapatite are found by XRD. It is found that the XRD results and thermodynamic calculation results are basically identical in present experiments, and the difference between the two is discussed. ©, 2015, Editorial Office of Transactions of Materials and Heat Treatment. In order to improve the performance of the classifiers, multi-classifier fusion is a good strategy. The multi-classifier fusion models based on Choquet integral have shown successful applications in practice since the adopted fuzzy measure in the integral can effectively describe not only the importance degree of the classifiers respectively but also the interaction among the classifiers. Considering many real problems, allowing fuzzy measure to assume interval or fuzzy numbers seems more reasonable. In this paper, we define a generalized Choquet integral in which an interval-valued fuzzy measure is adopted and its value is a crisp real number. Furthermore, the defined Choquet integral is applied in the multi-classifier fusion. PSO is used to determine the values of the interval-valued fuzzy measure. Experimental results demonstrate the rationality of the definition and the feasibility and effectiveness of the application in the multi-classifier fusion. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

Characteristics of flow field and stirring effects of top lance with various tilt angles (Tilt angles were 39°, 41°, 43°, 45° and 47°, respectively) on the molten bath were studied using water experiment and Fluent software. It was found that appropriate tilt angle could improve dephosphorization process, and too large and too small reduced the impacting depth and impacting diameter, respectively, leading to decrease in dephosphorization rate. When injecting by the 43° oxygen lance, impacting depth and impacting diameter were medium, mixing time and volume of dead-zone were the minimum and average flow velocity of molten bath was the biggest. This is helpful to promote phosphorus dispersion in dephosphorization ladle furnace and improve the dephosphorization rate. Based on the results of industrial application research, the 43° oxygen lance could stir the molten bath better, increase the dephosphorization rate and reduce the consumption of hot metal and scrap. © All right reserved.

Characteristics of flow field and stirring effects of top lance with various tilt angles (Tilt angles were 39°, 41°, 43°, 45° and 47°, respectively) on the molten bath were studied. The mixing time, impacting depth and impacting diameter were measured by water experiment. Flow field characteristics of three-phase flow were simulated by Fluent software. It was found that 43° oxygen lance could get the shortest mixing time being 56 s, the medium impacting depth being 36 mm and medium impacting diameter being 115 mm. When injecting by the 43° oxygen lance, average flow velocity of molten bath was the biggest being 0.0329 m/s, and volume of dead-zone was the minimum being 1.90 m3. In order to study metallurgical effects of oxygen lance with tilt angle, both 43° and 45° oxygen lances were experimented in a dephosphorization ladle furnace. The experiment showed that the oxygen lance with tilt angle can guarantee the normal smelting process. Compared with the 45° oxygen lance, the content of phosphorus in semi-steel B was decreased by 0.012 mass%, the dephosphorization rate was increased by 7.9% and the content of T. Fe loss was dropped by 1.9 mass%. It proved the oxygen lance with tilt angle could get a remarkable dephosphorization effect in a ladle furnace.

Stirring effects and impacting characteristics of conventional and various swirl-type oxygen lances (Swirl angles are 5°, 10°, and 13°, respectively) on the molten pool were studied. The mixing time, impacting depth and impacting diameter were measured by water model experiment. The flow field characteristics of gas-liquid two phase flow were simulated using Fluent software. It is found that 10° swirl-type oxygen lance injection can get the shortest mixing time which is only 47.6 s. The area surrounded by isovelocity is larger in molten pool when injecting by the swirl-type oxygen lance. When injecting by the 10° swirl-type oxygen lance, the area is the largest and the flow velocity of liquid steel is the highest. On this basis, the 10° swirl-type oxygen lance was experimented in 150 t vanadium extraction converter. The experiment shows that the swirl-type oxygen lance can guarantee the normal smelting process. Compared with the conventional oxygen lance, the reduction ratio of vanadium content in semi-steel is 17.8%, vanadium extraction rate is increased by 5.1%, V2O5 grade of vanadium slag is increased by 0.93% and iron loss is reduced. The flow field characteristics and stirring abilities of five kinds of bottom-blowing arrangements on the molten bath were researched in a 3t electrical arc furnace (EAF) with regular shape. The mixing time was measured by water experiment under different flow rates. Flow field characteristics of three-phase flow were simulated by numerical simulation. The average mixing time decreased with the flow rate and the radius of circle coincide increasing for the EAF with regular shape. Moreover, weakening counteracting force of counter-swirls could efficiently reduce mixing time than weakening impeding forces of sidewall with concentric circle arrangements at the tested conditions. Compared with 6R bottom-blowing arrangement at industrial application research, the 7R bottom-blowing arrangement, which was determined by the water model experiments and the simulations, could stir molten better in nitriding process, which agreed well with the experimental results of the water experiment and the numerical simulation. © 2016 Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining

The determination of vanadium, titanium, aluminium, magnesium and manganese in vanadium-titanium-iron concentrate by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) was proposed. In this method, the anhydrous sodium carbonate and sodium tetraborate were used as flux. The sample was firstly melted at 1000°C for 15-20 min. Then, the fusant was leached with 10% HCl (volume fraction). The vanadium, titanium, aluminium, magnesium and manganese in leachate were determined by ICP-AES. The type and concentration of acid for sample leaching were tested, and 10% HCl (volume fraction) was finally selected. The spectral lines of five elements were investigated. The spectral lines with high sensitivity, no or low matrix interference were used as analytical lines. The matrix interference was eliminated by matrix matching method in preparation of calibration curve. The standard samples (GBW07227 and BH0101) were determined for 10 times by the proposed method. The accuracy and precision of determination results were both good, and the relative standard deviations (RSD, n=10) were 0.59%-4.8%. Moreover, this method was applied to the determination of 10 samples in production materials. The results were consistent with those obtained by chemical analysis.
