Calcium sulfate whisker and magnesium sulfate whisker as reinforcer, SBS as toughener, ABS as resin matrix were used for manufacturing modified ABS composite by melt mixing and extrusion. The mechanical and thermal properties of the composites were tested, and the influences of calcium sulfate whisker and magnesium sulfate whisker usage on mechanical and thermal properties of the composites were observed. The toughening mechanism of the modified ABS composites was discussed, and the microstructure of the composite was observed. The test results showed that magnesium sulfate whisker had better comprehensive mechanical properties as compared with calcium sulfate whisker, when ABS was modified. © All Rights Reserved.

The design and synthesis of well-defined vanadium complexes as efficient catalysts for olefin polymerization remains an attractive project for organometallic and polymeric research. Recently, vanadium complexes with well-defined structures have been explored for olefin (co)polymerization by several groups around the world. This article summarizes our recent progress in well-defined vanadium complexes bearing a variety of chelating β-enaminoketonato, salicylaldiminato, iminopyrrolide and tetradentate amine trihydroxy ligands, and their applications in ethylene polymerization, ethylene/α-olefin copolymerization and ethylene/cycloolefin copolymerization. The application of the optimized catalysts in the copolymerization of ethylene and polar monomer such as 3-buten-1-ol, 5-hexen-1-ol, 10-undecen-1-ol and 5-norbornene-2-methanol is also discussed. Particular attention has been paid to the relationships between the catalytic behavior and the electronic and geometrical structure of the precatalyst. © 2011 Elsevier B.V.

Service development has two sides, with the wireless LAN applications continue to expand, wireless local area network, more and more threats, the wireless network being based on traditional wired networks not only TCP/IP-based attacks, but also by their own standards based on IEEE 802.11Security attacks, the security problems being taken seriously. © 2012 IEEE.

This paper puts forward an auto-tracking photovoltaic array model, which considers the tracker locking angle and step-track approach, and then verifies its accuracy. It uses the simulation software to analyze the characteristic of the tracking photovoltaic(PV) array and the influence to the PV array by the tracker locking and step-track approach. In the end, it gives the system model of grid-connected photovoltaic system and validates its accuracy.

The research on modified articular cartilage UHMWPE and PEEK reinforced with the ceramic particles, as well as fibre, ion implantation and γ-ray irradiation is presented. Research results show that pure polymer cartilage materials produce a large number of fatigue cracks during the wear process. Ceramic particles and fibre-filled reinforcement improved the spatial structure of the material, the wear mechanism was characterised by the mild fatigue wear. Ion implantation and ?-ray irradiation modified the articular cartilage by breaking the molecular main chains, then, by re-crosslinking the free radicals, this structure improved the mechanical properties and tribological properties of materials.
