Based on a brief review of the developing history of vehicle steering inverse dynamics, and using radial basis function neural network, the nonlinear mapping relation between lateral angular velocity and steering angle input is found. As a kind of organocatalyst, 1-[4-(perfluorooctyl)phenyl]-3-phenylthiourea was employed to the chemoselective oxidation of sulfides in the presence of 30% H 2O 2. A variety of diaryl, dialkyl, alkyl aryl sulfides could be oxidized to sulfoxide under the mild condition. Based on Radial Basis Function neural networks, a method of identifying vehicle steering angle is proposed for further investigation of the vehicle handling inverse dynamics. According to the simulation results of a two-degree-freedom closed-loop system and the test of double lane change maneuver, the mapping relationship between vehicle yaw velocity, lateral acceleration and steering angle can be found. The identification results show that the method is not only feasible, but also with high accuracy, little computation requirement and good stability. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. A commercially available perfluorooctyl aniline and phenyl isothiocyanate were reacted under mild conditions to give 1-[4-(perfluorooctyl)phenyl]-3- phenylthiourea as an analogue of thiourea-based organocatalyst. This fluorous organocatalyst was successfully employed to direct reductive amination of aldehydes.
