The East Lake of Wuhan, as a famous scenic area, has been seriously polluted with the influences of human activity. This paper sets up 7 monitoring points (D1~D7) along the East Lake according to the characteristics of point and non-point source pollution, to investigate and evaluate the current situation of water quality on the basis of fuzzy evaluation method. In which, the evaluation factors used for calculation of weight factors are different for lake water collected from different monitoring points. Results showed that the water quality of D3 is at Grade I and that of the other 6 monitoring points are all worse than Grade V. It was deduced that the D3 water was purified by aquatic plant of water lilies, while D1, D2, D4~D7 water were seriously polluted by the wastewater from household, hotels and restaurants, which was without any treatments and discharged into the East Lake directly. In addition, the pollutants from running vehicles on the bank of East Lake possibly went into this lake in the rain or snow weather and brought the lake water pollution. Therefore, some measures of controlling the direct discharge of wastewater from pollution sources, planting aquatic plants in the lake area and separating the lake from roads by a parkway, should be taken to protect the East Lake water environment and improve its water quality. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The bioleaching of a high alkaline copper oxide ore from Yunnan Province in southwest China was carried out in a shake flask with ammonia-producing bacteria Providencia JAT-1. It is found that temperature, liquid-solid ratio, species and concentration of the leaching aid, and initial bacteria inoculation have significant impact on the copper leaching rate. When the temperature is 30°C, the liquid-solid mass ratio is 7:1, the concentration of ammonium sulfate as the leaching aid is 0.024 mol·L-1, and the initial bacteria inoculation is 20%, the bioleaching for 144 h yields a copper recovery of 42.35%. The result of phase analysis shows that the copper leaching rate of secondary sulphide copper in the ore is the highest.

For the problem of adding cold charges operation in the PS Converter copper smelting, a kind of improving genetic algorithm is proposed. The GA was improved by population and individual dissimilarity degree and dissimilarity interval in order to enhanced global optimization and accelerate the convergence rate. The simulation results and production application demonstrate the effectiveness of the scheme which is beneficial to the operation optimization of PS Converter. © 2012 Chinese Assoc of Automati.

In this paper, a kind of rough set knowledge reduction algorithm based on improving genetic algorithm is proposed by analyzing rough sets reduction. Support degree and importance degree of condition attribute on decision attribute in information system are as heuristic information in Genetic Algorithm. On the basic of that, the GA was improved by population and individual dissimilarity degree in order to enhanced system global optimization and accelerate the convergence rate. In the present study, the tribological behavior of a Zr 52.5Cu17.9Ni14.6Ti5Al10 bulk metallic glass (BMG) was investigated using pin-on-disk sliding measurements under an argon atmosphere, rubbing against a type 303 stainless steel counterface. The tested pins and disk were examined using X-ray diffractometry, optical microscopy, profilometry, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The results showed that the wear of the BMG pins was substantially larger compared with previous tests performed against a zirconia counterface. Strain softening was found in the near-surface region of the glassy pin due to the highly localized shearing. Frictional heating contributed to the occurrence of viscous flow and material transfer on the worn surface of the wear pin and the disk, respectively. Thus, the pin exhibited a severe adhesive-dominated sliding wear. © 2012 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

The constitutive modeling and springback simulation for AA2524 sheet in creep age forming (CAF) process were presented. A series of creep aging tests were performed on AA2524 at the temperature of 180-200 °C and under the stress of 140-210 MPa for 16 h. Based on these experimental data, material constitutive equations which can well characterize creep aging behaviors of the tested alloy were developed. The effect of interior stress distributed along the sheet thickness on springback was simulated using FE software MSC. MARC by compiling the established constitutive models into the user subroutine. The simulation results showed that the amount of sheet springback was 61.12% when merely considering tensile stress existing along the sheet thickness; while sheet springback was up to 65.93% when taking both tensile and compressive stresses into account. In addition, an AA2524 rectangular sheet was subjected to CAF experiment in resistance furnace. The springback value of the formed rectangular sheet was 68.2%, which was much closer to 65.93%. This confirms that both tensile and compressive stresses across the sheet thickness should be considered in accurately predicting springback of the sheet after forming, which can be more consistent with experimental results. © 2015 The Nonferrous Metals Society of China.

Spectral similarity measure is the basis of spectral information extraction. The description of spectral features is the key to spectral similarity measure. To express the spectral shape and amplitude features reasonably, this paper presents the definition of shape and amplitude feature vector, constructs the shape feature distance vector and amplitude feature distance vector, proposes the spectral similarity measure by fusing shape and amplitude features (SAF), and discloses the relationship of fusing SAF with Euclidean distance and spectral information divergence. Different measures were tested on the basis of United States Geological Survey (USGS) mineral_beckman_430. Generally, measures by integrating SAF achieve the highest accuracy, followed by measures based on shape features and measures based on amplitude features. In measures by integrating SAF, fusing SAF shows the highest accuracy. Fusing SAF expresses the measured results with the inner product of shape and amplitude feature distance vectors, which integrate spectral shape and amplitude features well. Fusing SAF is superior to other similarity measures that integrate SAF, such as spectral similarity scale, spectral pan-similarity measure, and normalized spectral similarity score(NS3). © 2015 Kavala Institute of Technology.

The traditional zinc hydro-metallurgy generates a large amount of zinc ferrite residue rich in valuable metals. The separation of iron is crucial for resource recycling of valuable metals in zinc ferrite residue. A novel selective reduction roasting-leaching process was proposed to separate zinc and iron from zinc leaching residue which contains zinc ferrite. The thermodynamic analysis was employed to determine the predominant range of Fe3O4 and ZnO during reduction roasting process of zinc ferrite. Based on the result of thermodynamic calculation, we found that V(CO)/V(CO+CO2) ratio is a key factor determining the phase composition in the reduction roasting product of zinc ferrite. In the range of V(CO)/V(CO+CO2) ratio between 2.68% and 36.18%, zinc ferrite is preferentially decomposed into Fe3O4 and ZnO. Based on thermogravimetric (TG) analysis, the optimal conditions for reduction roasting of zinc ferrite are determined as follows: temperature 700-750 °C, volume fraction of CO 6% and V(CO)/V(CO+CO2) ratio 30%. Based on the above results, zinc leaching residue rich in zinc ferrite was roasted and the roasted product was leached by acid solution. It is found that zinc extraction rate in zinc leaching residue reaches up to 70% and iron extraction rate is only 18.4%. The result indicates that zinc and iron can be effectively separated from zinc leaching residue. © 2015 The Nonferrous Metals Society of China.

A series of plane-strain physical model experiments are carried out to study the spatiotemporal evolution rule of rocks fracture surrounding gob-side roadway, which is subjected to the pressure induced by the mining process. The digital photogrammetry technology and large deformation analysis method are applied to measure the deformation and fracture of surrounding rocks. The experimental results indicate that the deformation and fracture of coal pillars are the cause to the instability and failure of the surrounding rocks. The spatiotemporal evolution rule of the rock deformation and fracture surrounding gob-side roadway is obtained. The coal pillar and the roof near coal pillar should be strengthened in support design. The engineering application results also can provide a useful guide that the combined support with wire meshes, beam, anchor bolt and cable is an effective method. © 2016.
