Reactive power optimization problem is typical non-linear problem with characteristics of multi-objective, uncertainty and multi-restriction. Classical mathematical techniques are inadequate and insufficient to the optimal operation of power systems due to the inherent complexity. This paper studied on PSO algorithm and reactive power optimization, and made some new ideas into PSO algorithm to improve its optimization ability. Adaptive particle swarm particle swarm algorithm was proposed for solving the problem of large-scale search failed, and presented a method of adjustment parameters for adaptive PSO algorithm according to the optimization speed. In meeting the conditions for convergence, the algorithm enabled the speed of particles in accordance with the ideal adjustment of the parameters of adaptive search. On this basis, to overcome the disadvantage that PSO maybe get in local optimization solution, an improved PSO was developed. The algorithm used statistical laws of particle fitness to classify particles, and took different evolutionary models for different kinds of particles. Finally, IEEE-6 node standard test system was computed for reactive power optimization, compared with standard PSO, the proposed PSO algorithm had more higher search efficiency and better ability of global optimization © 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.

During the mid-long term voltage stability, the generator may, due to reactive power shortages, start its over-excitation limiter (OXL), leading the conventional approach that keeps the generator as PV node faces some problems. This paper improved the traditional multi-port network equivalent method by applying the generator model which can describe the action of OXL to the multi-port network, and provided an approach for online identification of OXL startup, thus the dynamic conversion of generator OXL can be considered in the improved multi-port equivalent network. Further, a voltage stability index was, based on the proposed multi-port equivalent network, derived to identify the maximum load power point. Simulation results show that the proposed method can provide a good early warning for the impending mid-long term voltage collapse. © 2015 Chin. Soc. for Elec. Eng.

A new algorithm based on improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) of cubic splines is proposed for multiple mobile robot path planning. The center path is described by string of cubic splines, thus the path planning is equivalent to parameter optimization of particular cubic splines. Improved PSO is introduced to get the optimal path for its fast convergence and global search character. PD controller is adopted to tracking the center optimal path. Experimental results show that a collision-avoidance path can be found effectively among obstacles and each other by the proposed algorithm. © 2011 IEEE.

With the rapid development of micro-grid, the generation planning has an important guiding significance for micro-grid construction. This paper proposes a micro-grid generation planning method for grid-connected micro-grid system with photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy system, based on the cost/benefit analysis theory. A micro-grid generation planning model with the goal of maximum lifecycle net profit is established in this paper, considering PV subsidy policy and two-part time-sharing electricity price. Three algorithms including particle swarm (PS) algorithm, AFSA and quantum genetic algorithm are used to solve the model. Thanks to the simulation test based on the real data in Shanghai, the planning results and the economic benefits of the micro-grid system are obtained by three optimal algorithms. Optimal allocation of generalized power sources in active distribution network is researched. A simple index of voltage stability is put forward. Considering the investment and operation benefit, the stability of voltage and the pollution emissions of generalized power sources in active distribution network, a multi-objective optimization planning model is established. A hybrid intelligent particle swarm optimization algorithm is proposed to solve the optimal model. In order to improve the global search ability, the strategies of fast non-dominated sorting, elitism and crowding distance are adopted in this algorithm. Finally, the model and algorithm by different load level of IEEE-33 node and PG&E-69 node are tested to find the best configuration of GP. The computed result shows that with the generalized power reasonable access to the active distribution network, the investment benefit and the voltage stability of the system are improved, and the proposed algorithm has better global search capability. © 2016, Power System Protection and Control Press. There is a restriction on the development of power quality monitoring software for lacking of corresponding technical specification and uniform systematic planning. In this thesis, the concept of supporting platform of power quality monitoring and analysis system is posed and the supporting platform provides data service, report work, authority management, alarm service, authority management, communication service and other public services; abiding by the advocacy of IEC 61970 Standard, the system applies CORBA component technology inside and outside the system and realizes the "plug and play" of public services and applications. Through the standardized public communication service module, the data interaction with other power quality monitoring software, PMS system, DMS/EMS system and other third-party systems is completed and the multi-angle and deep power quality analysis are conducted based on multi-source information fusion technology and the power quality analysis and evaluation, harmonic source location, power quality warning, management decision support and other intelligent analysis application are realized. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

In this document, a BP neural network based PID control is designed considering the characteristics of solar power generation based on profound research on BP neural network control technique. In addition, computerized control program has been developed for grid-connected photovoltaic inverters for power generation, which has been applied for current control of grid-connected inverters. Digital simulation tests indicate such controller can effectively improve waveform of grid-connection current and dynamic process of grid-connection control of photovoltaic system by dynamically changing the parameters of PID controller. In addition, it realizes same frequency and same phase for both output current of inverter and voltage of gird while improving immunity. In the end, smooth grid connection is realized for photovoltaic generation system. © 2016 IEEE.

In view of the actual situation which CT is only installed on 220 kV circuit breaker side, existing problems and the action logic of common protection's dead-zone are briefly analyzed. The operation mechanism of related circuit breaker tripping in divided period under the condition of CT fixed on both sides respectively and side's protection added with the function of low voltage blocking, is also researched. Based on it, ways to eliminate protection's dead-zones are put forward, i.e. CT is fixed on each side whose protection added the function of low voltage blocking, and corresponding circuit breaker is segmently tripped to resect dead-zones fault. To some extent, the methods can effectively reduce the influence scope of accidents.
