Combined cooling, heating and power (CCHP) microgrid has the advantage of high energy utilization efficiency. The fluctuation of renewable energy sources and multiple load demands challenges the economic operation of CCHP microgrid. In this paper, we propose a novel two-stage coordinated control approach for CCHP microgrid energy management, which consists of two stages: the economic dispatching stage (EDS) and the real-time adjusting stage (RTAS). In EDS, it utilizes a model predictive control incorporating piecewise linear efficiency curves to schedule the operation based on the forecast information. In RTAS, the schedule obtained in EDS is adjusted based on the real-time information to tackle the power fluctuations. A typical-structure CCHP microgrid is analyzed in the case study and simulation results are presented to demonstrate the performance of the proposed two-stage coordinated control approach. © 2017

In the voltage source converter based multi-terminal DC (VSC-MTDC) transmission system which considers the wind power prediction, a multi-objective optimal power flow (OPF) optimization algorithm is executed prior to the VSC-MTDC system to find the optimal reference values for the active power and DC voltages of the voltage-regulating converters. The control coefficient of each converter station is adjusted by referring to the generalized droop control to optimize the control strategy for the converter station in the VSC-MTDC system. At the same time, MATLAB is used to optimize the control strategy of the VSC-MTDC system considering the wind power prediction. By comparison with the results of the OPF algorithm in different cases for the VSC-MTDC system, the effectiveness of the proposed optimization method for control strategy is verified. © 2017 Automation of Electric Power Systems Press.

Reliable identification of transmission section is important for avoiding cascading failures caused by transferring power flow in power systems. Considering characteristics of power flow transferring, this paper designed an identification method of transmission section in complex power grid based on current transferring ratio. Power network can be simplified based on theoretic topology and relation matrices. To reduce search scope of transmission sections, flow transferring path section is established with non-directional search method. Cyclic current method is used to get current transferring ratio in complex power grid. Considering influence of positive and negative currents, the ratio is corrected to avoid omission of reverse overloaded lines. At last, correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method were verified with simulations of a coupling system, New England 39-bus system and IEEE 118-bus system. © 2017, Power System Technology Press. By referring to the green, efficient hydrogen storage mode, a power coordinated control of photovoltaic and hydrogen hybrid power generation system is proposed. Hydrogen storage includes the electrolyzer, hydrogen storage tank and proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC). Considering the slow dynamic response characteristics of PEMFC and electrolyzer, a supercapacitor with high power density and good transient performance is used to make up for the power imbalance of the hydrogen energy storage device during its dynamic response. Photovoltaic, supercapacitors and hydrogen storage units collect and allocate electric energy to the DC bus through the DC/DC converter and power coordinated control strategy, and connect to the AC system by using DC/AC inverter. Simulation analysis shows that the proposed power coordinated control storage is correct and effective. © 2017 Automation of Electric Power Systems Press.

Wind power consumption is often curtailed by the inflexible operation of combined heat and power (CHP) units due to the strong coupling relationship between power generation and heating supply. Furthermore, the time delay of district heating network (DHN) and indoor temperature can heavily affects the operational plan of the district heating system (DHS). Hence, a practical CHP-DHS model and multi-regional coordinated operation strategy based on model predictive control (MPC) are developed for planning and operating this CHP system. The thermal characteristics of the demand side including the thermal inertia of buildings as well as thermal comfort are taken into consideration. Three types of heat source are considered: CHP units, electrical boilers and heat storage tanks. The objective of the optimization is to minimize the overall generation costs of CHP units and conventional thermal power units. Part of a real provincial power system and a municipal DHS in Northeastern China are used in this case study. The results indicate that the proposed method shows improved performance in wind power integration and indoor temperature control. IEEE

A new algorithm based on improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) of cubic splines is proposed for multiple mobile robot path planning. The center path is described by string of cubic splines, thus the path planning is equivalent to parameter optimization of particular cubic splines. Improved PSO is introduced to get the optimal path for its fast convergence and global search character. PD controller is adopted to tracking the center optimal path. Experimental results show that a collision-avoidance path can be found effectively among obstacles and each other by the proposed algorithm. © 2011 IEEE.

There is a restriction on the development of power quality monitoring software for lacking of corresponding technical specification and uniform systematic planning. In this thesis, the concept of supporting platform of power quality monitoring and analysis system is posed and the supporting platform provides data service, report work, authority management, alarm service, authority management, communication service and other public services; abiding by the advocacy of IEC 61970 Standard, the system applies CORBA component technology inside and outside the system and realizes the "plug and play" of public services and applications. Through the standardized public communication service module, the data interaction with other power quality monitoring software, PMS system, DMS/EMS system and other third-party systems is completed and the multi-angle and deep power quality analysis are conducted based on multi-source information fusion technology and the power quality analysis and evaluation, harmonic source location, power quality warning, management decision support and other intelligent analysis application are realized. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

In view of the actual situation which CT is only installed on 220 kV circuit breaker side, existing problems and the action logic of common protection's dead-zone are briefly analyzed. The operation mechanism of related circuit breaker tripping in divided period under the condition of CT fixed on both sides respectively and side's protection added with the function of low voltage blocking, is also researched. Based on it, ways to eliminate protection's dead-zones are put forward, i.e. CT is fixed on each side whose protection added the function of low voltage blocking, and corresponding circuit breaker is segmently tripped to resect dead-zones fault. To some extent, the methods can effectively reduce the influence scope of accidents.
