Reactive power optimization problem is typical non-linear problem with characteristics of multi-objective, uncertainty and multi-restriction. Classical mathematical techniques are inadequate and insufficient to the optimal operation of power systems due to the inherent complexity. This paper studied on PSO algorithm and reactive power optimization, and made some new ideas into PSO algorithm to improve its optimization ability. Adaptive particle swarm particle swarm algorithm was proposed for solving the problem of large-scale search failed, and presented a method of adjustment parameters for adaptive PSO algorithm according to the optimization speed. In meeting the conditions for convergence, the algorithm enabled the speed of particles in accordance with the ideal adjustment of the parameters of adaptive search. On this basis, to overcome the disadvantage that PSO maybe get in local optimization solution, an improved PSO was developed. The algorithm used statistical laws of particle fitness to classify particles, and took different evolutionary models for different kinds of particles. Finally, IEEE-6 node standard test system was computed for reactive power optimization, compared with standard PSO, the proposed PSO algorithm had more higher search efficiency and better ability of global optimization © 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd. A new algorithm based on improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) of cubic splines is proposed for multiple mobile robot path planning. The center path is described by string of cubic splines, thus the path planning is equivalent to parameter optimization of particular cubic splines. Improved PSO is introduced to get the optimal path for its fast convergence and global search character. PD controller is adopted to tracking the center optimal path. Experimental results show that a collision-avoidance path can be found effectively among obstacles and each other by the proposed algorithm. © 2011 IEEE. Source

Optimal allocation of generalized power sources in active distribution network is researched. A simple index of voltage stability is put forward. Considering the investment and operation benefit, the stability of voltage and the pollution emissions of generalized power sources in active distribution network, a multi-objective optimization planning model is established. A hybrid intelligent particle swarm optimization algorithm is proposed to solve the optimal model. In order to improve the global search ability, the strategies of fast non-dominated sorting, elitism and crowding distance are adopted in this algorithm. Finally, the model and algorithm by different load level of IEEE-33 node and PG&E-69 node are tested to find the best configuration of GP. The computed result shows that with the generalized power reasonable access to the active distribution network, the investment benefit and the voltage stability of the system are improved, and the proposed algorithm has better global search capability. © 2016, Power System Protection and Control Press. The original radiation-type single power supply is changed into multi-supplies power coexistence in distribution network with the advent of distributed generation (DG) which not only brings about greet opportunities for energy diversifications in distribution network, but also provides new challenges to its safety, stable operation. The coupling of distributed generation in distribution network is discussed in this paper. Distribution network will be easy to appear faults after distributed resources are accessed into distribution network. Coordinated control framework of distributed power in distribution network based on G-MAS is put forward. Bus control Agent, micro-network Agent, line Agent and cell Agent has been set up to obtain the optimal control strategy by learning collaborative and selecting the right output. The simulation example is shown that G-MAS control strategy in distribution network can fast and effectively restore power when distribution network appears faults, which can fast restrain voltage fluctuation caused by local load change in distribution network.
