This paper presents dual-band wearable antenna using split-ring resonator (SRR). The SRR is placed near patch and feed line. SRR makes a major contribution to the first operating band (2.32 GHz), but it has a minor effect on the second operating band (3.5 GHz). The wearable antenna at 3.5 GHz (without using SRR) is also presented for comparison sake. The simulation results are analyzed and compared with the measured results, which shows that there is a good agreement between them. © 2016 Taylor & Francis Source

This paper discusses a triple-band microstrip circular antenna using rising sun shaped structure embedded in the substrate of patch antenna. The proposed design is based on the metamaterial property of rising sun shaped structure. The proposed antenna shows good performance at all resonant frequencies. The rising sun structure in substrate makes a major contribution to the first and second operating bands, while it has a minor effect on the third operating band. The proposed antenna is compared with the conventional antenna. This antenna has a high gain at all working frequencies. In this paper, dual-band microstrip antenna with complementary split ring resonator is presented. The designs are based on the metamaterial property of the complementary split ring resonator. A simple dual-band antenna can be realized by etching single CSRR in the ground plane of a conventional patch antenna. The proposed antenna shows good performances at both resonant frequencies. The CSRR in the ground plane makes a major contribution to the first operating band, but it has a minor effect on the second operating band. The simulation results are analyzed and compared with the measured results, which shows that there is a good agreement between them. © 2013 IOS Press. Source
