Phase transformations in specimens of low-alloy pipe steels subjected to a treatment corresponding to the heat cycle of welding are studied using a high-speed dilatometer. Thermokinetic diagrams simulating the transformations in characteristic regions of the heat-affected zone are plotted. The results are compared to the properties of longitudinal welds of large-diameter pipes. © 2012 Springer Science + Business Media, Inc.

Results of mechanical tests of constructional Al – Mg alloys in the temperature range of 200 – 450°C at a plastic deformation rate ā ranging from 10 to 10– 3 sec– 1 are presented. The strain resistance under the conditions of competition of the processes of hardening and softening is represented by a dependence ĕ ~ ān. A positive correlation in the form of a second-order polynomial is derived for the exponent n and the temperature and the logarithm of the rate of plastic deformation. © 2015 Springer Science + Business Media New York.

Scanning electron microscopy, different methods of electron diffraction, x-ray spectrum microanalysis and x-ray diffraction analysis are used to study the microstructure and crystallography of eutectic chromium carbides in HP40NbTi alloys in as-cast condition and after endurance tests for 2 – 100 h at 1150°C. Transformation of the carbide phase in the structure of heat-refined pearlitic and martensitic steels is studied at various temperature and time parameters of aging. The effect of the morphology of the carbides formed in the structure of the steels during aging on the mechanical properties is investigated. The effect of deformation in the austenitic temperature range on the features of the crystal geometry of the packet-and-block structure of martensite and bainite after cooling is studied for two low-carbon steels with different levels of microalloying. The distribution of lattice off-orientations in the substructure of the austenite formed by hot deformation of a model austenitic steel SS304 is determined. The effect of the grain size of the austenite and of the cooling rate on the bainite and martensite effective grain sizes is investigated. The continuous variation of structure and the kinetics of dissolution of the initial phases with formation and dissolution of intermediate phases at the temperature of long-term operation of cast refractory alloy 0.45C - 26Cr - 33Ni - 2Si - 2Nb are studied. The behavior and succession of phase transformations in Fe - Cr - Ni-base alloys at a temperature of 0.85 - 0.90 of their solidus, including the case of the action of external load, is determined. Steel 05GFB is studied after two treatment modes, i.e., quenching and thermomechanical treatment. In each case the test pieces are subjected to tempering at different temperatures and holds. The structure of the metal is investigated and the microhardness of the structural components is determined.
