Tensile test and impact test at room temperature were carried out on super duplex stainless steel 00Cr25Ni7Mo3.5WCuN, and the phase ratio and elemental distribution were calculated by use of the thermodynamic software Thermo-Calc, and effect of tungsten content on mechanical properties of the test steel were investigated. The results show that increasing tungsten content the complete solution temperature of σ phase in the test steel raises. When temperature reaches between 950℃ and 1000℃, σ phase precipitation in the steel leads to significant decrease of the impact toughness and increase of the strength. When the solution temperature is higher than 1000℃, the σ phase in the steel is completely dissolved. Further more, the strength is enhanced with increase of tungsten content. For per 1% tungsten content increased, it provides increments of 30 MPa of yield strength and 25-30 MPa of tensile strength. ©, 2014, Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society of Heat Treatment.
