Technology has taken its toll on human life and is present everywhere. Within the context of smart cities projects, there is a need to see how social relationship can be translated to objects and a new paradigm - the Social Internet of Things tries to address this transition. This research aims to develop a new approach for the product service systems design in the context of the social internet of things, with a case study of the development of a new smart social bike service. The research uses the design thinking approach to integrate concept of product service system into the multi-level service design. New service concepts are proposed and an architecture is designed for the operationalization of the service based on the Social Internet of Things paradigm. Advanced Microsystems for Automotive Applications 2012: Smart Systems for Safe, Sustainable and Networked Vehicles | Year: 2012

The MobiCarin Vehicle Infotainment System addresses the key elements that give OEM systems an advantage over portable devices: seamless integration with the vehicle, hardware control interfaces, and vehicle configuration. The Visteon-based system, currently being developed by the MobicarInfo Consortium, is tailored to the needs of electric vehicle owners, offering access to a set of resources under a single umbrella. These resources include: battery status; upto- date charging station map and station reservation; route planning; real-time information on public transport, and car-sharing. Vehicle configuration and control features include: remote access, in-vehicle and remote AC control, driving mode, power window control, speed and seatbelt notifications, information from temperature and parking sensors, and onboard diagnostics. The system is being developed by the members of the consortium, namely, Critical Software, INTELI, IPN and CEIIA. A functional prototype will be available in late 2012. Source

The objective of this paper is to analyze the influence of different driver behaviors on the energy consumption of electric buses. It shows that risktaking attitudes on traffic are not only dangerous to the driver, to the bus users and to the surroundings, but also promotes a poorer performance of the vehicle itself, increasing its energy consumption and reducing the amount of energy that can be recovered on regenerative braking. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014. Bicycle sharing systems have proven their value towards urban sustainable mobility. Appropriate design of bikes for this application is fundamental for bike-sharing systems viability. A new e.Bike was designed for the specific application of bike-sharing. This bike model has a significant number of new features that improve the user experience through an adequate position of motor, as well as the addition of new functions such as the locking of the bike and rider safety.
