Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems represent a huge market in the commercial arena. Products from suppliers such as SAP, Oracle and more recently, Microsoft, dominate the software market. Testing in these projects is a significant effort but is hardly supported by methods and tools other than those provided by the suppliers themselves. Experience shows that testing in these projects is critical, but often neglected. Recent 'lessons learned'work by the Paul Gerrard indicates that a benefit, risk- and coverage-based test approach could significantly reduce the risk of failures. It is evidence that modified condition/decision coverage (MC/DC) is an effective verification method and can help to detect safety faults despite of its expensive cost. In regression testing, it is quite costly to return all of test cases in test suite because new test cases are added to test suite as the software evolves. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the test suite to improve test efficiency and save test cost. Many existing test-suite reduction techniques are not effective to reduce MC/DC test suite. This paper proposes a new test-suite reduction technique for MC/DC: a bi-objective model that considers both the coverage degree of test case for test requirements and the capability of test cases to reveal error. Our experiment results show that the technique both reduces the size of test suite and better ensures the effectiveness of test suite to reveal error. © 2010 IEEE.

Equal channel angular pressing, is a severe plastic deformation process to develop grains below 1ᣡm in diameter. The paper reports the formation of ultra fine grained structure in electrolytic copper by equal - channel angular pressing (ECAP). Electrolytic copper was successfully processed using a die having channel intersection angle Ф=90° and angle of curvature ψ=200 in route BC. ECAP was carried out upto 10 passes at room temperature. The imposed strain resulted in a large reduction in the grain size to submicron level. Microstructure and mechanical properties of commercially pure copper rods processed by equal channel angular pressing were investigated. Special attention was paid to the features of the processed microstructures and micro hardness properties of the ECAP samples. The grain size and micro strain were calculated from XRD data using Williamson Hall Method. The optical morphology of each angle pressed copper was studied and correlated with grain size measured by William’s Hall Method. Micro hardness and micro tensile values of ECA pressed copper varied with respect to each angle press. © Research India Publications.

An experimental investigation was carried out to evaluate the performance and emission characteristics of a turbocharger coupled multi cylinder diesel engine. Turbocharger is an equipment which helps to counter and reduce pollution. It’s fitted to the diesel engine. The exhaust gases coming out from the engine are utilized in running the turbine and after that the exhaust gas escapes to the atmosphere. The turbine is connected to a compressor; combustion takes place by the air present inside the engine at initial condition. As the exhaust gas comes out after combustion, it sets the turbocharger in motion and thus the compressor. The compressor supplies additional air for ignition which will result in complete combustion. Thus it reduces the polluting effect of the exhaust gases. The work carried out of this project to give a detailed analysis of the turbocharger and to check the performance variation in a 4-stroke multi cylinder diesel engine with and without the turbocharger. Tests were conducted in a suitably instrumented, four stroke, multi cylinder, water cooled diesel engine at five different loads 0, 25, 50, 75 and 85% of rated load in diesel fuel. While the performance of the engine was evaluated using brake thermal efficiency, brake specific fuel consumption, mechanical efficiency, thermal efficiency and exhaust emissions were studied. The emission levels of NOX, HC, CO and CO2 were used for emission characteristics. The investigation indicates that the implementation of turbocharger offers high efficiency compared to without implementation and reduces the engine noise also. CO emissions and smoke capacity decreased significantly while NOX emissions decreased marginally. © Research India Publications.

In this paper presents a Novel co-simulation of random pulse width modulation generation for three phase inverter drive by using Spartan3E500 FPGA device, in order to disperse the acoustic noise spectra of an induction motor drive is presented. This scheme is randomized by selecting the triangle arbitrarily among the two triangles. The arbitration selection is based 8 bit linear feedback shift register. The least bit of the register output decide the winning triangle which is to compare with sine reference wave to generate pulses. It presents the output fundamental voltage, THD and harmonic spread factor for various modulation indexes. In this proposed work done by using novel co-simulation methodology i.e combined simulation of Modelsim6.3f and Matlab7.10 which will reduce the design implementation time. In addition, FPGA synthesis results has been provided. © 2014 IEEE.

The performance of the four phases SRM is investigated especially driven by standalone PV fed module with Repression Resistor converter. Inorder to perform the good working condition of motor, the basic behavior of SRM should be researched. Because of abundant solar energy sources the application is introduced in high speed drives such as SRM in this paper. The results also compared with SRM driven by DC source offers superior performance in simulation analysis.

Construction industry has intricacy in its nature to do a triumphant project because it involves large number of parties as clients, contractors, consultants, stakeholders, shareholders, regulators and others. Among the construction phases the most difficult task is to ensure quality and performance in the execution part. Some of those factors which affect the construction process quality and performance such as cost, duration, quality, productivity, client satisfaction, health and safety and environmental factors are considered in this project. These factors are identified from literature survey and a questionnaire developed and used as a research tool to obtain the opinions from Owners, Project managers, Quality and Safety officers and Site engineers working in various contracted construction projects where they do not involve in design phase. Minitab17 is a statistical package and used for statistical analysis of the data acquired from the companies. Statistical analysis is done for ranking and selection of major factors contributing the construction process performance. Thus the major factors which influence and enhance the quality and process performance are identified and recommendations to evade those factors are discussed. © Research India Publications.
