Two shell footbridges for the MRio (Madrid river) has been built by ACCIONA Infraestructuras. These footbriges are characterized by a double curvature cover with 49.08 m span, and 43.46 m platform span. In this site, the ACCIONA R&D Department has implemented with great success two technologies of Advanced Materials: Application of self-compacting concrete in extreme conditions of temperature and quick formwork removal structures applying the concrete maturity control technology, both technologies developed In the ACCIONA R&D Technological Center in Madrid. The calculation and monitoring of the water footprint make it possible to estimate the variation in the integral water requirements in Spain with respect to demand for use and consumption. From the study of the specific characteristics of production in the different regions it is then possible to assess the intensity and dependence of the water factor in production models. The research has established the variation in the total water footprint for Spain as well as that of the Autonomous Communities in 1996, 2001 and 2005. Several relationships have also been established between productive specialization and direct and virtual water requirements, as well as with generated income. Source
