We studied correlations between the intensity of accumulation of oxidatively modified proteins and the state of the system of proteolysis in the basal nuclei (nucl. caudatus, pallidum, nucl. accumbens of the septum, and amygdala) of the rat brain after an episode of intense acute hypobaric hypoxia. We demonstrated that, the processes of protein peroxidation in the basal ganglia are intensified under the action of hypoxia in a parallel manner with increase in proteolytic activity. Accumulation of oxidized proteins is considered a factor influencing the activity of proteolysis. © 2014, Springer Science+Business Media New York.

1-Aryl-3-(1-aryl-4-chloro-1H-imidazol-5-yl)prop-2-en-1-ones prepared from 1-aryl-4-chloro-1H-imidazole-5-carbaldehydes and methyl aryl ketones reacted with nitromethane affording 1-aryl-3-(1-aryl-4-chloro-1H-imidazol-5-yl)-4-nitrobutan-1-ones which were reduced with zink in acetic acid to obtain 1-aryl-5-(2-aryl-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrrol-4-yl)-4-chloro-1H-imidazoles. © 2015 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

The reduction of 1-aryl-4-chloro-1H-imidazole-5-carbaldehydes with sodium tetrahydridoborate gave 1-aryl-4-chloro-1H-imidazol-5-ylmethanols which were converted into 5-chloromethyl and 5-fluoromethyl derivatives. 1-Aryl-4-chloro-5-chloromethyl-1H-imidazoles reacted with sodium azide, secondary amines, thiols, and triphenylphosphine to produce the corresponding products of chlorine replacement in the 5-chloromethyl group. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Optics and Spectroscopy (English translation of Optika i Spektroskopiya) | Year: 2014

A Mueller-matrix model is proposed for analysis of the optical anisotropy of protein networks of optically thin nondepolarizing layers of biological tissues with allowance for birefringence and dichroism. The model is used to construct algorithms for reconstruction of coordinate distributions of phase shifts and coefficient of linear dichroism. Objective criteria for differentiation of benign and malignant tissues of female genitals are formulated in the framework of the statistical analysis of such distributions. Approaches of evidence-based medicine are used to determine the working characteristics (sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy) of the Mueller-matrix method for the reconstruction of the parameters of optical anisotropy and show its efficiency in the differentiation of benign and malignant tumors. © 2014 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
